Spain was going through its best results periods in the ESC: two victories in 1968 and 1969, 4th in 1970, 2nd in 1971 and 10th in 1972, when it scored yet again another great results in 1973. The six-piece group formed when they were still in their teens in Bilbao.

It is formed by the three Uranga siblings: Amaya, Roberto and Izaskun

After having already some success in Spain, they went to Luxembourg to represent their country in the ESC 1973. They were the heavy favourites together with a Cliff Richard once again singing for the UK with his song "Power to all our friends". It was the first time non-English speaking countries could sing in English and the first participation of Israel. In the end, however both Spain and the UK were surpassed by Luxembourg's "Tu te reconnaitras" by Anne-Marie David, giving the small country two back-to-back victories. Spain came second and Sir Cliff was once again behind the Spanish ending in third. Israel had a great debut by finishing fourth.

The song "Eres tu" went on to become an evergreen and a worldwide hit in its different versions. It was even nominated in 2005 in the Congratulations Gala for the best ESC song. The group showed up despite having lost Roberto to a heart attack just days before. They still perform together ocasionally.

I prefered the song that won ("Tu te reconnaitras" Luxembourg) but this would also be a great winner.

Beautiful and powerful song.
