should be interesting!
The BBC has received nearly 200 complaints after EastEnders showed scenes in which a teenager was stabbed by a gang.

Viewers have complained that the pre-watershed soap may have been watched by young children and were too violent.

According to the Daily Mail, the BBC had 184 complaints, while Ofcom received seven.

The scenes, which were broadcast at 7.30pm, saw Jay Brown, played by Jamie Borthwick, getting stabbed by a gang member after a game of football in the park.

A BBC spokesperson commented: "EastEnders has always tackled difficult issues and we acknowledge that some viewers could consider this storyline challenging.

"This is part of a long-running storyline that in no way glamorises the use of knives."

Mediawatch UK's John Beyer said: "I think this shows that at a flagship programme such as EastEnders they are prepared to ignore public opinion, prepared to ignore the regulator and the complaints and carry on regardless."

I LOVE THE MASOODS (L)

I found the Ian/Gutter thing believeable actually- Not that I've ever seen anyone have it done, but I'm sure someone has :o

I can't believe the stabbing got complaints. I didn't think it was even very graphic at all. These people that phone in must be so boring if they sit at home watching Eastenders, see Jay get stabbed and go "OMG something controversial before water-shed!!! Must get on the phone to my best buddies OFCOM!!!". Do they have nothing better to do? I didn't find the stabbing disturbing, if I didn't see the blood I would have thought he was punched in the stomach or something. No wonder people moan that Soaps are boring when people like this complain at the first sign of anything slightly "wrong" before water-shed.
Some people are ridiculous. I think it's a v. good and trueful reflection of stories I have seen in the news of people getting stabbed by a large group of hooligans. I can't wait for January 31st episode; just Dot.

That is nothing as bad as there being compaints over the line-dancing on tuesday. People objected to the old-fashioned stereotype of line-dancing that was done by Garry and Mintry  Imagine having so much time on your hands

itsw corrie fans that complin about eastenders!!!the stabbing wasnt graphic at all as for the MASOODS i dont know what i think but with the way they are so far i cannot see them staying in the show for long
i don't like the masoods' either.
