While we anticipate the long awaited comeback of Whitney (scheduled for any day now...), I wanted to post the Thunderpuss mix of 1999's It's not Right, but it's Okay. I consider it a timeless anthem.

Any opinions?

Not really dance but I suppose that remix is...

Whitney's 1998/1999 era music was quite good actually, she had 3 classics, along with My Love Is Your Love and When You Believe...I Learned From The Best was underrated too and was a very powerful ballad

Yeah I debated since she's clearly not a dance act. But I did want to highlight that remix which is definitely pretty housey.

The song got to #3 in the UK... was it off the strength of the remix like in the US?

This remix is as famous as the original.

In the UK I never hear that remix, I think it was mainly for the radio edit here

the remix was hugely popular in Europe and definitely helped the single chart well. It was actually preferred over the original in most countries, using it as the main version.

Yeah I've never even heard the original but I imagine it was played on R&B/urban radio. It's actually a fantastic way to reach crossover chart success. Another example from the same year is Deborah Cox's "Nobody's Supposed to be Here." On pop radio, the Hex Hector remix was a huge hit and the original was #1 on R&B radio.

Apparently it flopped in the UK! Surprising...

I remember I heard the remix on the radio and loved it when I was young. Then I got the album and was hugely dissapointed it was nothing like the remix. xD
Love the original and always have done, the remix is okay but being a lifelong Whitney fan it's the original for me. :P
Did you guys know that there is a dance cover of this song???? Its by Dennis Christopher (who is behind the Beatfreakz project among others) and called "Its Not Right". :) Just thought you should know!
