a good playlist with many acts performing at their very best :)

Ive never heard that How can I be sure, David Cassidy took it to number one in the 70's and Dusty Springfield had a minor hit with it too, a few years earlier.

Young Rascals version was the original - David Cassidy's & Dusty Springfields versions were covers

S&G. Fakin' It was a US #23 hit. All S&G's singles between I Am A Rock in 1966 and Mrs. Robinson in 1968 were flops. The singles were:

The Dangling Conversation US#25

A Hazy Shade Of Winter US#13 (Bangles covered it in the 80s)

At The Zoo US#16

Fakin' It US#23

Scarborough Fair Us#11

Keith West - Excerpt from A Teenage Opera - Comes from the never finished opera - the music was finished but the opera itself never appeared

This song was about the town's Grocer Jack who had taken ill and died so his shop never opened again and the kids didn't get their breakfast.

Keith's follow-up called Sam (chart peak #38) was about the town's fireman.

Other songs from the opera included - He's A Dear Old Weatherman - Aunty Mary's Dress Shop - Mr. Rainbow - Cellophane Mary Jane.

The album was re-released a few years ago and is still available.
