Still not sure about that shiny silvery get-up he had on though!

Kathy

great performance and great track as well

it was a brilliant performance:D they all looked very hot:) hope it will be number 1 xx
great chance of anumber 1 i think

Up against Leona Lewis's new one :(

After the dreary last single, this has all the ingredients to be a major hit. It is a SENSATIONAL and exciting song. Gary's vocals are his best and the way the chorus builds to a climax each time makes it a perfect song for radio. I wouldn't be surprised if it outsells Patience.
I LOVE LOVE this track, but am worried as i love Leona's too....eeee....what's a girl to do?!

I thought it was a brilliant performance, and I hope rule the world is a massive hit for the boys

I agree wiith Kathy though, I'm not sure about Gaz's shiny outfit

it will be massive im sure of it and will be a long stayer on the chart also

I heard Leona's song again yesterday and to me - it doesn't have the 'oomphh' factor all the hype led me to believe it would. I also detest it when a British singer tries to 'put on' a US accent in her singing voice ... it really just sounds like a Mariah/Whitney karaoke attempt at times. Although I still think she'll beat TT to number one - I think she'll drop off the chart pretty quickly whereas, as FTF says, RTW will probably stick around for at least 20 weeks.

And ... if their record company gets its *rse into gear and releases it in the US - it could be a minor hit over there.

Just my opinion.

Interesting...i agree to a certain extent, but i must say most singers (even our beloved tt) sing with an american accent, and having seen Leona live this isn't 'put on'. I'd actually pitch these songs in a fairly similar way, as neither of them knocked me down when i heard them first, but both are growers, and are really catchy - i can't stop singing them now! They are also both getting similar amounts of air play from what i've heeard... I do however, think that Leona's sound is suited to a US market more, but like you say this track of take that's also has potential.

Anyway that was massively o/t! Back to the subject in hand YUM to the take that performance :w00t:

I totally disagree about Gary Barlow's voice ... no matter what ... you can still tell he's from England when he sings, not only that, you can tell he's from the North of England. Just like you can tell that the Gallaghers are from the North of England, and John Lennon was from Liverpool in his singing. Mark has just got a really 'cultish' accentless accent in his singing. Only the one effort I can tell from Jason (from Wooden Boat and that is definitely a lovely English, folk-type singing. As Howard mainly sings perfect harmony with Gary - I really can't make out his accent in his singing voice. The only one who sings with a US accent in my opinion is Robbie - which is why - in all honesty - I thought he would have made a bigger success of himself in the US by now.

This is why my favourite female singers at the moment are Amy Winehouse, Mutya and Beverley Knight (I've just been listening to a fantastic accoustic version of I'm Every Woman from her and it was mint!) and a few others who don't feel that they have to sing 'a la Maria / Whitney / Celine' (OK - she's Canadian and she's sh*te anyway IMO - so don't throw stones at me!)

Now off with you to the In My Pants and Horses for Hearts threads and put some effort in there. We're on a mission to get TT posts up to 5,000 as soon as possible!
