Robbie Bows To Tire Pressure

Beverley Lyons And Laura Sutherland

Daily Record

1st October 2007

ROBBIE Williams has ruled out any more massive tours after his last string of gigs left him in rehab.

The ex-Take That singer embarked on a world tour last year, which involved 44 concerts in 14 countries but it left him mentally wrecked and hooked on antidepressants.

Robbie said: "I definitely wouldn't go on a tour that was more than about a month. I'm just not built for it."

He is now enjoying life in LA, concentrating on his football team LA Vale, named after his beloved Port Vale from Robbie's hometown of Stoke. He has converted a tennis court at his home into a training pitch and would love to actually buy a small stadium for matches.

And despite a string of offers of TV and film work in the States, Robbie is determined to keep a low profile across the Atlantic, saying: "I love the fact that I don't want anything from this town and everybody else here does.

"I take almost a perverse joy in saying 'no thanks'."

WILLIAMS: 'SOCCER KEEPS ME SANE'

http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/artic...%20sane_1045284

British pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS used soccer to help him get his life back on track following his stint in rehab. The singer, who lives in Los Angeles, set up his own team which he has christened L.A. Vale and credits the sport with allowing him to regain his sense of normality. He says, "Football gives me a bit of balance. I'm back to where I was before I went on tour. Football is a sort of poor man's meditation." The singer checked into rehab for addiction to caffeine and prescribed drugs.

Britney Spears receives useless support from Robbie Williams

Britney Spears has received some useless and rather stupid protection from Robbie Williams, the man who used to sing, who now sits on a chair all day reading the LA Times.

The ‘Feel’ star (note that the song mentioned was released many years ago) said that he would be willing “to kill” for protecting the fellow pop princess.

Robbie confessed to Britain’s The Observer newspaper: “I go past Britney Spears’ house every day on the way to my hike and there are 30 cars outside, and I just want to get out and kill them.”

The British singer/songwriter has been jerking about playing soccer for his new team LA Vale, based on his favorite soccer team in Britain, Port Vale.

He said: “I get a lot of nice film offers, TV shows, that are very flattering to receive, but I turn them all down. I take an almost perverse joy in saying ‘no thanks’ to things.

“I want my team to be known. I want it to be an attractive team to play for, and I want it to have a buzz around it. All the matches are on the internet, so I encourage it really!”

PREM ACES PLAY AWAY WITH ME SAYS ROBBIE

2nd October 2007

By Iain Burchell and Nigel Pauley

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/16945...me-says-Robbie/

Pop king Robbie Williams has spoken for the first time of his secret Los Angeles nights with top Premiership stars.

Football-mad Robbie has tempted some of the biggest names in English football to play away for his Sunday League side LA Vale.

But they are risking their careers, and the fury of their club managers, by turning out for the glorified pub team.

Robbie, 33, gives stars the run of his two £5m Hollywood mansions. And, in between sun-bathing and partying, the aces moonlight during close season.

The singer has got to know some of the game’s top stars after appearing in numerous testimonials, including Soccer Aid at Old Trafford last year. But he is refusing to name names.

He said: “I can’t mention them because they come and play with me off-season and they’re not supposed to. I don’t want to get them in trouble.”

But a Hollywood source said: “Fans would be staggered by some of the players who’ve turned out.

“Robbie’s a great host. There’s food and drink on tap and tickets to all the best clubs in town.”

But Premier League bosses are demanding to know if their stars are risking career-threatening injuries.

Club chairmen are also in a sweat over who is breaching strict multi-million-pound insurance policies.

A source at one club said last night: “All the big clubs are horrified to think their players could be putting themselves at risk.

“Robbie can expect a few phone calls demanding he name names.”

LA Vale’s home ground on the UCLA campus is so well equipped Chelsea used it during a pre-season tour. And Robbie has revealed plans to turn them into the Manchester United of US Sunday league football.

They include building his own stadium, forming a super-league for America’s best Sunday league teams and even signing up retired legend Zinedine Zidane, 35.

The team are top of both the over-30s LA Premier League and Los Angeles Super Metro League.

Robbie revealed: “I’ve been thinking of approaching all the best teams in the best leagues to form a super league of some sort.”

The LA Vale squad is a mix of nationalities with Robbie and his best pal Jonathan Wilkes, 29, regularly playing.

Pals Ant, 31, and Dec, 32, also turn out when they are in the States.

Obviously just a spur of the moment comment that the idiots who wrote this took literally  How very sad indeed -_-

Me thinks they crawled under the rock they live under in 2002 and just crawled out. I think they should go crawl back, the brainless gits

Can't imagine why he looks so uncomfortable in that pic with those microphones and cameras shoved in his face... <_<

What a prick that "journalist" is!! Can he be any nastier with his made up story?!?!

Does Tara EVER stop using Rob for publicity

Tara PT: 'I still love Robbie '

Tuesday, October 2, 2007

Metro

Is there still a future for Tara and Robbie

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson still loves Robbie Williams and says only his rehab treatment in LA has kept them apart.

The 35-year-old 'It Girl' confessed: 'He's in LA and I'm here.'

'He adorable and we have such a laugh together. I love him and he knows that.'

But she says his battle with his addictions has quashed their chances at love, telling Star magazine: 'He went to rehab and hasn't come back to the UK.'

She says her love for Britain won't tempt her to be by the singer's side, adding: 'I like it here. I won't be heading to LA.'

Tara's 'marital bliss'

ThisisnorthofScotland via TRWS

Apprently Tara and Robbie's time together was 'marital bliss'

There's always one that got away and for Tara Palmer Tomkinson it seems the man that escaped her clutches was Robbie Williams.

The pair had a 10-day fling last year - and the socialite described their time together holed up in Robbie's luxury pad watching TV as "marital bliss".

The 35-year-old told Star magazine: "He's adorable and we have such a laugh together. I love him and he knows that."

Even though Robbie lives in LA, Tara said she would definitely move across the pond "for love".

"Robbie and I have so much in common, and it was great when we lay in front of the TV like slugs," she laughed.

"We watched Deal Or No Deal every day. We loved that. We'd just lie there in marital bliss."

She continued: "I feel I should be on the next plane to LA to see Rob. There's such unfinished business there."

And despite a string of offers of TV and film work in the States, Robbie is determined to keep a low profile across the Atlantic, saying: "I love the fact that I don't want anything from this town and everybody else here does.

"I take almost a perverse joy in saying 'no thanks'." [/b]

That is exactly how i feel when i say no thank you to gorgeous men!!

Robbie Williams joins Mark Ronson for star-studded LA show

Super-producer sells out his first gig in the city

NME

Mark Ronson brought out a parade of guest vocalists during his first ever headlining performance in Los Angeles last night (October 3).

Looking dapper in a dark, pin-striped suit, the 'super-producer' was backed by a seven-piece band for his sold-out show at the El Rey Theatre.

Boston rapper Tiggers was the first guest to join him onstage to reprise his role on Ronson's album 'Versions'.

He was followed by Santogold and Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet, who performed his own song 'California' - after which Ronson told the audience was one of the two best songs ever written about the Sunshine State.

Next up was surprise guest Robbie Williams, who took the stage to whoops and hollers to perform a pumped-up version of The Charlatans' 'The Only One I Know'.

Then came soulful LA chanteuse Nikka Costa who performed 'Like A Feather', followed by Daniel Merriweather for 'Stop Me' - Ronson's version of The Smiths' 'Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before'.

"Last time I was here I was DJing, so it's an honour to have a sold-out show with my own band," Ronson told the crowd, which included Joel Madden of Good Charlotte and his pregnant girlfriend Nicole Richie.

Mark Ronson and his band played:

'Inversion'

'God Put A Smile'

'Toxic'

'Apache'

'Good Girls'

'Ooh Wee'

'Pretty Green'

'Amy'

'The Only One I Know'

'Just'

'California'

'Like A Feather'

'Stomp Clap'

'Valerie'

'Stop Me'

The performance has been getting great reviews. Even fromt he 3AM Bitches, can you believe it :o

MARK OF A STAR

05/10/2007

Producer Mark Ronson's, left, gig in LA's El Rey theatre was a night of stars - both on the stage and off.

The celeb-studded audience which included a pregnant Nicole Richie, Mischa Barton and Brit band The Feeling erupted when Mark invited "the most famous man in the world" on to the stage.

Enter Robbie Williams - who is quite famous. He electrified the crowd with a cover of The Charlatans' The Only One I Know. It was the Robster's first live show for ages - and well worth the wait.

Robbie Williams made a surprise return to the live stage in Los Angeles last night, appearing as a guest star with Mark Ronson.

The super-producer's first ever headline appearance, at the El Rey Theatre, featured a series of other collaborators, performing a number of his reworked classics.

Boston rapper Tiggers, Santogold and Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet, LA songbird Nikka Costa and Daniel Merriweather all turned out.

However, it was the appearance of the UK icon, who now lives in LA, which came as the greatest surprise, playing with Ronson and his seven-piece band.

According to the NME, Robbie ran through a lively version of The Charlatans' "The Only One I Know" at the show, receiving a rapturous reception

And an extract from a Los Angeles Times Review :D

Just then Robbie Williams strode onstage, and the DJ-producer turned solo artist's hyperbole became justifiable.

Williams, one of England's biggest pop stars, elicited the "oohs" and "aahs" Ronson wanted as he celebrated the release of "Version," his second solo album, a collection of reworked English chart hits. The dapper but somewhat subtle 32-year-old bandleader stood to the side playing guitar as Williams, a world-class ham, shadow-boxed through the Charlatans' song "The Only One I Know." Then he was gone, returning the spotlight to his once and future producer.

Yet another great review :D

Robbie Williams Covers The Charlatans

At surprise show with Mark Ronson...

Gigwise via PR

Robbie Williams covered The Charlatans during a surprise return to the stage on Wednesday (October 3rd). Williams made the guest appearance during Mark Ronson’s show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles.

Taking to the stage to a rapturous reception Williams performed a rousing version of Charlatans’, ‘The Only One I Know,’ to the sold out audience.

The show was Ronson’s first ever headlining performance in America and follows the huge success of his album, ‘Versions.’ Performing with a seven piece orchestra, Ronson’s set also included his cover of The Smiths’, ‘Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before.

That is SO awesome!!! And he looks like he's having such a good time too!

That is absolutely incredible ..... great reviews all round and most shocking from the British press :o

Have they all started taking their meds or did they get off their meds that's cleared their heads and their ears ?!

Howard scared to do a Robbie

Published: 05 Oct 2007

TAKE THAT star HOWARD DONALD has revealed he could never go solo like former bandmate ROBBIE WILLIAMS – because he's too scared of being alone.

Shy Howard confessed he is nervous about doing anything by himself and needs the support of his bandmates around him.

Speaking to me at the aftershow party for hot new movie Stardust, Howard said: “I could never do what Rob has done and get up there on stage by myself.

“I'd be terrified. I'm nervous enough as it is with the other lads around me.
