Williams shocks US with sex remark

Friday, October 19 2007, 15:01 BST

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/a78078...sex-remark.html

By Beth Hilton

Robbie Williams has shocked the US public by announcing that his favourite hobbies are "bum sex" and "heroin".

The singer told reporters that he had been "w**king and shooting heroin" when asked about his recent activities upon leaving an LA hotel.

He later joked to TMZ: "What else have I been doing? Just being nasty and having bum sex."

The 33-year-old's comments were aired on US television before the 10pm watershed, with added subtitles to help viewers understand his accent.

However, his friends insisted that Williams - who relocated to LA five years ago - was merely joking around and hopes viewers were not too offended.

A source said: "Robbie didn't realise they were going to air his comments on US TV. He was just being sarcastic and he is now worried Americans won't understand his sense of humour."

Take That will still take Robbie Williams back

http://www.myparkmag.co.uk/articles/celebs...lliams-back.jsp

19 October 2007 - Britain's biggest come-back band Take That tell Jonathan they would still like Robbie back in tonight's edition of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on BBC One.

Asked about their relationship with him they say: "Out of all of us I was the most hopeful," says Jason. "We all know he's got a good heart," adds Howard, "we still love him, but we'd have to spend time with him, see what his personality's like now." "The door's always open," says Gary.

They talk about the inclusion of Gary's wife Dawn on the tour: "We've got a lot of female dancers to impress!" says Howard, who gets to dance with her, "I trust them all!" says Gary.

As for their renewed success: "It's been unbelievable, I don't think you can expect success like that," says Gary. "There's not a night goes by when we think are we still here," admits Jason.

"It was our whole life last time," says Gary, "but we have other lives now. There's no question we've got all the control, it's nice to be in control of your own destiny. We're all respectful of each other, before we do anything it's a big decision."

The band also perform their new single Rule The World live in the studio.

The line-up also includes broadcasting legend and national treasure Sir Terry Wogan, who inadvertently hit the headlines this week after a recent noteworthy edition of Points Of View. "I did the show in moleskin trousers, and the mole was still in there!" he jokes, "when I watch TV I look at people's faces!"

He also confirms that he has no intention of taking any time off from his busy broadcasting schedule: "I love doing it [Wake Up To Wogan], would I get up at 5.30 every morning to do something I don't want to do?"

Jonathan is also joined by England ladies' football star Kelly Smith and comic actor and writer Peter Serafinowicz whose eponymous new sketch show is currently screening on BBC Two.

Friday Night With Jonathan Ross is a Hotsauce TV production for BBC One.

Mayte or John can you translate please :D

The north americans offended? please! if all the news come from the UK what a persecution and i give full reason to robbie williams, if he wants to say what he wants, he must be furious, hurt etc etc, and whomever cares let them care, I SUPPORT YOU ROBBIE

I don't think Rob really worries what the US public thinks of him as he has repeatedly said he doesn't want to make business there.

And as he's unknown to most (North) Americans anyway, why should this comment be such a big deal. Why should they care about RW all of a sudden,

he's never been on US TV before. -_-

Robbie has been making these silly comments for years...why is it such a big deal now. Oh I remember..so the craploids have something negative to write about him and say how amazing TT are :arrr: :arrr: :arrr:.

Anyway...how funny was his comment about Mcdonalds "I like to dress for the golden arches"...still cracks me up a day later    .

You know, I keep forgetting TMZ has a tv show...danggit I missed it!!

Yeah so do I. I did remember that day though but turned it on about 10 minutes into it and guess I missed it.

I think most of America forgets TMZ has a show. Honestly, I doubt anybody watches that c**p and those that created it probably have an IQ of minus 10  Its the most stupidest idiotic thing I've ever seen !!!

As for the subtitles ... they put subtitles to others as well, to American's none the less so I doubt it had anything to do particularly with Rob or his accent. And seeing as no one really knows who he is in America, I doubt anybody watching cared what some British guy said nor was shocked  They most probably didn't even know what w@nk or bum means

Atleast TMZ got the joke, wish these idiots writing these articles would have got it as well. I just hate the way they're making it sound as if he was doing some TV interview and said all that when it was just some loser paparrazzi's swarming him.

...why is it such a big deal now

It's not a big deal...it's just the tabs making a mountain out of a mole hill, as usual.

Look how it's been twisted now. I'm sure Robbie is having a laugh at how they've completely taken his words out of context.

Robbie Williams has the support of John Legend

Owen Williams

Singer John Legend has expressed his sympathy for British singer Robbie Williams - claiming that he can’t understand why the ‘Feel’ star hasn’t had much success in America.

Robbie, who is one the UK’s best-selling male solo artists has had trouble have the same success in America.

In an interview with British newspaper The Sun, John, who has won five Grammy Awards said: “I’m stunned as to why Robbie’s not that done well in America.

“It’s a difficult market to crack. Americans’ music taste changes all of the time.

“I’m lucky things have worked out for me.

“I’m glad I’m known for making good music rather than for partying like some people. I also would hate to have a celebrity girlfriend. I do like to party though – I just do it private!

John, whose, biggest his is ‘Ordinary People’ continued:: “I heard about the deal that Robbie got and how they were expecting big things in the States but sometimes certain things don’t catch on and some countries are more culturally-specific.

“If I’m honest I don’t know why is didn’t work out however I know he’s a real hit in the UK. He’s a likable guy.”

The singer also revealed his admiration for British singers Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Joss Stone & James Blunt, He said: “Joss is really sweet and talented. I’ve worked with her a few times now and she deserves her success.

“Lily is fresh. She brings something completely different to the music scene and James Blunt is great. He certainly likes to party.”

He added: “But Amy is way above everyone else. I love her – I met her when we were doing the Jools Holland show. I think she’s really talented and has one of the most distinctive and cool voices in pop music right now and the Americans love her.

“I’d rate her as one of the top five female singers in music.

“Obviously she has her problems in her private life but she has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard.

“I’d love to work with her.”

John also said that he hopes to work with ‘Thriller’ star Michael Jackson on his highly anticipated new album, he told The Sun: “I wrote one idea for Michael Jackson but I don’t know if he’ll use it.

“The song was with Will I Am for him which I thought he might like. Let’s see.”

John added: “Acting is something I’d really like to try too at some point,” he said.

“I’ve got very little acting experience but I’m in talks with a few film companies about a few different movie ideas.

“A lot of people have approached me and think I’ll be good at it. I only want to do it if I can do a really good job. I don’t like doing things half-heartedly.

“Music will always take priority – acting isn’t natural but I know I’m very good at singing and writing songs.”

Honestly are people that dumb? How many times does Robbie have to say that he isn't trying to crack America before it actually sinks into people's thick skulls?
:whip: I'll gladly be nasty with Robbie! That report from TMZ was enough to send me into fits of giggles.

WESTLIFE WANT ROBBIE TO JOIN

http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/artic...%20join_1047925

25/10/2007 19:20

Irish boyband WESTLIFE have invited ROBBIE WILLIAMS to join their comeback tour. Westlife have been without a fifth member since Brian MCFadden quit in 2004, and Williams has been band-less since he walked away from their rivals Take That in 1995. And Mandy hitmaker Nicky Byrne is convinced their are a perfect match. He tells British radio station Heart, "Take That should take Brian back and we'll have Robbie." Kian Egan adds, "If I was a member of Take That I wouldn't want Robbie back. I think they're doing very well without him and Robbie's doing well on his own. I think people are going to see Take That and not Robbie Williams."
