Dark side of Alex's nuptials

Alex Gore Browne planned her wedding to JCB heir Jo Bamford meticulously, making her silk gown by hand as well as those of her bridesmaids and maid-of-honour Kinvara Balfour, the Duke of Norfolk's niece.

But as the 31-year-old designer exchanged vows with Jo at Chelsea Old Church, news filtered through of a bombing in the Maldives - the couple's choice for their honeymoon - in which two British newlyweds were seriously injured.

"We all exchanged worried glances when we heard where they were going," says a guest at the weekend nuptials, which featured a hymn sung by Jo's chum, Pop Idol Darius Danesh.

Happily, the news did not cast too dark a shadow over 28-year-old Jo and Alex's big day. The couple, who met in Ibiza two years ago, celebrated with high tea at Claridge's for 70 guests.

Fittingly for the heir to a £1.3 billion fortune, it was Jo's second celebration. Last month, his mother Lady (Carole) Bamford organised a party for 600 friends at the Orangery in Kensington Gardens.

Thanks Preston,

I wonder what hymn he sang. Would love to hear it.

I know, and I love that he has "class". to be honest it runs through him like a stick of rock and shines out in whatever he does..

I love that. Darius is a stick of rock. That's the first thing to make me laugh today. Thanks, I needed it.
Maybe that's why that girl asked him if she could lick him. Keep it clean pip, we're innocents on here.

I left out one word in that report on purpose. I love that he has class as well, maybe thats what the gutter press dont like. A stick of rock, that is so funny especially with the licking comment fromMeg. The girl who said that was Mae who has disappeared and she was a very strong supporter.
I get the feeling the media dont like class either..doesnt fit their scandel gossip souls, rich really with all this talk of politicians wanting more healthy role models in pop for kids - when the press slam any one clean cut as cheesey and concentrate on losers.
I'd volunteer but I just can't see how I'd fit it in. One of Natasha's boys birthday is next week. I can't see that he'd stay here for that.
In the documentary I was watching today, Darius rates his family as his top priority. It may be several years later but IMHO from everything that I've seen of him recently, he still does and that includes Natasha and her children.
That puts Natasha and the boys first, with his birth family very close behind. It's how it should be.
