This week Snow Patrol have equalled the 56 week reign of Engelbert Humperdinck's single Release Me from 1967/8 although this was 56 continuous weeks.

 

Snow Patrol have had 2 chart-runs.

 

Their next milestone to reach is 67 weeks that Judy Collins reached with Amazing Grace between 1970 & 1972. This song though had 8 chart runs.

 

After that it would be the 122 weeks of My Way by Frank Sinatra, this was in 9 chart-runs from 1969 to 1972. It also re-entered for 2 weeks in 1994

 

Will Snow Patrol reach any of these 2 dizzy heights?

What do you think - bearing in mind all the above did all their chart-runs in the Top 50 as this was the full length of the chart in those days.

No, still Top 75 and only Top 75 counts.

 

As for breaking records, I'll happily break any Snow Patrol record put in front of me.
