i agree about the diva thing diva to me is a bad thing,

Why do people call her diva like it's some sort of glamorous tag? IT'S NOT A GOOD THING.

 

Um, the term can be used in a good or bad way. It was first used to describe really good female opera singers & then was used to describe talented female singers, which grew to also mean "great, popular female singer" ... It can also be used in a negative way like it is for Diana Ross (arrogant, demanding, 'up herself', etc).

 

OBVIOUSLY I'm not using the term negatively when I'm talking about Jamelia.

Actually, diva isn't a bad thing at all. The definition of "diva" is "An operatic prima donna" or "A very successful singer of nonoperatic music" - therefore good. The common use of the word actually has no relevance to the actual meaning of the word :)
