October 4, 200717 yr I think in general, western Europe's quality of songs has been pretty steady since the early 1990s, however eastern Europe's quality of songs has gone up by far. Eastern Europe send better songs, that's [nearly] all there is to it imo. :(
October 4, 200717 yr I agree with JackJones that if there's any political voting it's diaspora-influenced...Cyndi would have sent us top 15 at least :( And we may have even got a point or two from France for once :drama:
October 4, 200717 yr Author I really don't think political voting has anything to do with the UK's bad results. However, when you start to see that the rest of Western Europe are filling the bottom places you start to wonder.... I mean the UK's songs have been bad, but the entire west side of Europe haven't had bad songs Well exactly and the UK is part of Western Europe and of course 'The Big 4' which I think other countries resent The Ark's The Worrying Kind was decent and deserved at least top 10...However the eastern countries in general (Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia) did have the better songs this year

Notice that genre's fairly popular here though and we have them a good few points! :w00t:
October 4, 200717 yr The only western Europe disgrace result this year was Malta tbh, which was just shameful to have a song that good in the bottom 5 of the semis... All the rest got roughly what they deserved or were ever going to get I think...
October 5, 200717 yr Author The only western Europe disgrace result this year was Malta tbh, which was just shameful to have a song that good in the bottom 5 of the semis... All the rest got roughly what they deserved or were ever going to get I think... I didn't think Vertigo was anywhere near the standard of other Maltese entries...Malta had a brilliant run of songs from 2002-2005 and then Fabrizio and Olivia ruined it a bit...
October 14, 200717 yr I agree with JackJones that if there's any political voting it's diaspora-influenced...Cyndi would have sent us top 15 at least :( 'Cos everyone knows that acts that are big in Serbia (for example) are unheard of Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Slovenia and FYR Macedonia. We probably would have finished higher had we sent Cyndi, though.
