February 24, 200817 yr Author Spain needs to be added, and its a great song, I love it That's not confirmed yet Mikey.
March 1, 200817 yr Author It's been rumoured that Jalisse might be entering; Italy's 1997 contestant. ^_^ I think they're having some internal national final though.
March 1, 200817 yr I can't decide what I think of Georgia's song. I didn't particularly think any song from Georgia was fantastic, but to their credit they picked the best out of what they had. Diana didn't sing too bad for live either. She hit a few sour notes, but overall decent. Great stage show, though her arms flail around a bit (we'll forgive her for that one because she's blind) ^_^ People on ESC Today are giving it hell (0 points... blah blah blah... yeah whatever) Edited March 1, 200817 yr by NRS11
March 1, 200817 yr Author Georgia's song is quite nice on first impressions. I've yet to listen to Latvia and Finland though. ^_^
March 1, 200817 yr Author This Finnish song is absolutely awful. Worse than Lithuania and the United Kingdom imo.
March 1, 200817 yr Author Oh God. :( Latvia's is such a novelty record but SO catchy! Ireland have some competition here!
March 2, 200817 yr :o You are completely right. Finland is awful, no offense meant to anyone who likes Finland. It is just my opinion. at Latvia. This is definitely gonna qualify for the finals!
March 2, 200817 yr Sweden will have a chance winning this year if they are going to go with Charlotte Perrelli (who won 1999 as Charlotte Nilsson) or BWO, those two are brilliant even thou BWO is almost too much of a ABBA clone.
March 2, 200817 yr Oh God. :( Latvia's is such a novelty record but SO catchy! Ireland have some competition here! Thankfully I don't think they'll be in too much direct competition. Apart from the fact they're in seperate finals, Ireland are going for the zany p***-take Verka route, whereas Latvia are going more for just a novelty pop song, a la "Vampires Are Alive."
March 6, 200817 yr So it's No Angels for Germany. I was relatively positive about this song until tonight but MY GOODNESS what a DREADFUL performance!!!
March 7, 200817 yr for France : Sébastien Tellier – Divine song can be heard here > http://www.myspace.com/telliersebastien
March 7, 200817 yr hats off to France for picking a genuinely HUGE star from their country! Nice song, and actually representative not only of 2008 but also what the French actually listen to... best French entry since 2001, I hope they don't end up bottom 5 again...
March 7, 200817 yr Author What a bizarre song from France. Very Scissor Sister-esque and I don't think it really goes anywhere tbh. Can't see it doing very well myself... And WTF at it being in English?!
March 9, 200817 yr Montenegro have premiered their song, which I think is already listed, Armenia have chosen "Qere Qere" by Sirusho, and Spain, who I have always respected as a Eurovision country, and made a big innovative step in their selection process this year, have chosen a bigger pile of $h!te than all of this year's novelty entries combined.
March 10, 200817 yr So France and Germany have sent entrants who are genuinely quite big and popular and seem to be taking it seriously. And we get Andy f***ing Abraham. I hope they finish in the top 10!
March 10, 200817 yr So France and Germany have sent entrants who are genuinely quite big and popular and seem to be taking it seriously. And we get Andy f***ing Abraham. I hope they finish in the top 10! So?! My goodness No Angels may be more "popular" (if you call a reformed has been girl-group with only 80% of the original members popular) but Andy Abraham has more talent. The UK's last winner was a one-hit wonder from the 80s, so what does popularity matter?
