Posted October 5, 200717 yr TELEVISION MEMORIES 6: ‘Eurotrash’ Last night I was watching ‘More4’, and the ‘Channel 4 at 25’ season, whereby iconic shows from the archives are repeated late at night, and ended up watching the first episode of ‘Eurotrash’ . Now you might remember that these early episodes were co-presented by the fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier and that this show was one from 1993 where a ‘Smurf’ broke into ‘EuroDisney’, however you might not know that Davina McCall was involved in the production of the programme. I was surprised to see her name on the credits and to see that it was actually Davina McCall, rather than Kate Robbins, who provided the additional voice-over for the dubbed ‘foreign language’ footage in these days.
October 5, 200717 yr oh i loved eurotrash... yep it was tacky, but antoine really took the p out of himself. dunnowhy but i always took a likeing to summut european on a friday night... its a knockout probably started it!
October 6, 200717 yr If ever there was a programme perfectly named this was it. It was the follow up from Rapido on BBC2 wasn't it? As Rob says ^ Antoine made it by taking the mickey out of himself and everyone in it. Do you remember designer Jean Paul Gaultier was a co-presenter in the earlier series?
October 7, 200717 yr  It was so tacky but funny and entertaining at the same time. And my fave series were definitely the ones with Jean Paul Gaultier as co-presenter!
October 8, 200717 yr Author If ever there was a programme perfectly named this was it. It was the follow up from Rapido on BBC2 wasn't it? I used to love watching ‘Rapido’ on BBC 2. It was one of the ‘DEF II’ shows along with ‘Rough Guides’ and Jonovotti’s ‘Gimme 5’. I think it was broadcast on either a Monday or a Wednesday night at around 7pm. The show was a very good pop programme with better acts than a show such as ‘the Ozone’. I think the ‘Rapido’ show actually came from France and he would record French links for their television channel as well as doing the English presentation.
