Posted October 5, 200717 yr Retro Beverages This morning on the radio, Terry Wogan was talking about the ‘Red Lemonade’ he used to have when he was a boy in Ireland. I was wondering if anybody knew what this drink was, whether it was simply a coloured lemon flavoured fizzy drink or was it actually what we call ‘Tizer’? In addition to this I was also wondering what other ‘Retro Beverages’, whether ‘soft’ like ‘Tab Clear’ or alcoholic like ‘Spoof’ did people enjoy and which drinks would people like to see again?
October 6, 200717 yr Back in the early 1980s we used to have a Pop van come around every Saturday morning delivering drinks. I remember drinking various dfifferent flavours of Corona (although that might be spelt with a capital K) fizzy pop.

(playing rabbit rabbit rabbit on qi last night)

October 9, 200717 yr I remember SARSPARILLA it was one of my favourite cordials but haven't seen it for years my mum goes on about it all the time, i saw it briefly at one of the big barshow trade shows but obv were more bothered trying all the beers and ciders on offer. its a bit like D&B innit?
October 10, 200717 yr Author I prefer that drink to sarsaparilla. Actually there is a ‘temperance bar’ in Rawtenstall Lancashire that still sells sarsaparilla as well as other ‘olde worlde’ cordials and root beers. I have not been there yet as I am on the other side of Manchester, but have been meaning to go to have a look around. Re: ‘Dandelion and Burdock’ Does anyone remember which ‘alcopop’ brand used to sell an alcoholic version, was it ‘Spoof’ or was it ‘Hooch’
