Coronation Street star Julia Haworth has revealed that she is pregnant.

The actress, who plays Claire Peacock in the ITV1 soap, is expecting her first baby with accountant husband Jon Wormold.

She found out the news in November but wanted to keep it quiet until her 12 week scan.

She told The Mirror: "We haven't stopped smiling. It's such a special time and I feel so lucky we're going to share it."

Haworth added that her character's postnatal depression following the birth of son Freddie had helped "prepare" her for being a mother.

The 28-year-old married Wormold in May 2006 after a two-year romance.

She is due to give birth in July.

Oh well; Hopefully that means Ashley and Claire will leave screens for a while. :yahoo:

Nah; Congratulations.

Bod, tonights episode is going to be horrible...always when its a popular character they give it the most emotion in the script, and i bet ill cry, though ill try VERY hard not to

But the only problem I have with the first episode is that there's too much else going on, what with the Maria/Liam/Carla, David/Tina and that Michelle/Ryan/other dad storyline. See, this is where EE is better for me, because if its the characters last show, they give them the most episode, i couldn't care less about who's flirting with who, Gail's shock face or steve going on about ryan not being michelle's, its just tedious, and the pointless bits of random 'comedy'.

So, hopefully, Liz Dawn's character gets a decent episode for her exit or im boycotting Corrie for the rest of 2008!!!! Anyone else agree or is it just me being morbid????!!!!

Going to be very, very emotional tonight.

Im staying in and for once, im happy about it! Will be watching the farewell of one half of the most iconic couple in soap.

Oh it'll be horrible. I hope it's as emotive as Alma's death was! That really was depressing.
Oh what a bizarre death scene. I wanted a tear-jerker! Corrie can do so much better than that.
That wasn't very thrilling was it

No, it wasn't quite what I expected!!

No, it wasn't quite what I expected!!

Not thrilling but realistic I'd say ... now when Eastenders kill Jim Branning off they'll have a real hero's death - he'll jump into the freezing waters off Beachy Head to rescue a drowning Jack Russell ... and then they'll cut to Dot committing hari-kiri with a sacrificial sword whilst simulatneously throwing herself onto a funeral pyre having one last Consulate cigarette before she departs this mortal coil ... realism at its best!

Norma!

Aww the second episode is really sad.

It was good. It was the young'uns that carried it off though - especially Molly crying and Paul & Tyrone.

Disappointed with her exit.

He isnt dying!

Oh and both eps made me cry soooo much, a really dignified and sombre ending and i agree - Molly was fantastic along with Jack.
