Windass? Is that an actual name?

God just from reading these plotlines it's safe to say I'm glad I don't watch the soaps anymore!

Even Hollyoaks is better than Corrie right now and coming frokm someone who thinks Hollyoaks has appalling acting and is shallow and plastic that's BADDDDD.

The only thing in Corrie's favour at the moment is it is better than Eastenders, and yes I know that ain't much of a compliment. I actually watched a whole episode of Eastenders tonight and now know that I'm not going mad - it is shoite of the highest order.

Thank god I watched HIGNFY later and the fantastic Reg D Hunter to restore my faith in comedy and TV.

CORRIE wheeler-dealer Pam Hobsworth’s life is left hanging by a thread after an explosion in a pigeon loft.

The New Year episode sees the Street celebrate with a fireworks display — but Pam has to contend with a much nastier blast.

Pam (Kate Anthony) and sidekick Darryl Morton (Jonathan Dixon) have been trying to sell cooking oil as their own brand of “biofuel”.

But Jack Duckworth (Bill Tarmey) finds out they have been storing the dodgy stuff in his bird loft and angrily orders them to move it.

When Pam loses the key, she decides to force the padlock off with a drill . . . and all hell breaks loose.

A Corrie source said: “When Pam comes to move the fuel, sparks fly from the drill and the biofuel catches fire, causing an almighty explosion.

“There are flames and feathers everywhere.”

But due to the fireworks at the Rovers Return, the rest of the Street don’t notice the explosion — at first.

And as the credits roll, Darryl is blasted into the air, while Pam lies unconscious.

Our insider added: “Viewers will see Darryl stirring as he lands. But it looks more serious with Pam.

“Viewers have warmed to her quirky character so they’ll be on tenterhooks to see if she survives. It’s a great cliffhanger to go into 2009 with.”

The only thing in Corrie's favour at the moment is it is better than Eastenders

Always has been. Eastenders has always been miserable.

This storyline involving Gail, Joe & David with the Windass' could be really good I think, although I'd hate to see Gail lose another man she really likes :( LOL I dunno why but I love seeing Gail happy LOL

CORRIE: GRIEVING MARIA LAUNCHES HATE ATTACK

WIDOW Maria Connor could be spending Christmas in jail after police nick her for attacking Tony Gordon.

The devastated brunette lashes out at her husband’s killer after visiting his grave and finding flowers from Tony.

Maria (Samia Smith, 25) is sure the Underworld boss was responsible for Liam’s death.

So she storms round to his house for a fiery confrontation and ends up battering the shocked businessman.

Maria screams: “I’ll never rest till you pay for what you did to Liam.” But far from being scared, he warns her that there is plenty of space in the graveyard for her, too.

To show she is not scared, frantic Maria then scrawls “MURDERER” on the knicker factory wall in red paint before throwing what is left of the can over Tony’s car.

The police are called and an out-of-control Maria admits to everything, shouting: “I did it. It was me.

“I did it because no-one believes that Tony Gordon killed Liam and now he’s going to kill me.”

But the police are not impressed and arrest her on suspicion of criminal damage.

I agree, I'm really looking forward to seeing how Maria will get him back.

I don't like miserable Hayley  I hope she picks up soon or she'll begin to grate :(
im glad becky got off... shes just about the only decent female in that programme and i like her zany antics.

I'm glad Steve seems to be wanting to break free of the apron strings of the drudge-puddle Michelle. Besides ... he must get peed off at that boot-polish coming off on the pillows every night! He's got a real woman in Becky! She's a natural successor to his fire-brand Karen!

On the subject of Hayley though! Don't you think, if you'd gone through all the mental anguish, physical pain and financially draining process of a sex-change ... you'd try to at least walk like a woman?

Blanche was terrific again tonight!

CORONATION Street schoolgirl Sophie Webster is to reveal that she may be PREGNANT.

The 14-year-old confesses after dad Kevin discovers a used pregnancy test in a bin.

Kevin (Michael Le Vell) assumes the kit was used by wife Sally (Sally Whittaker). When she denies it, the long-suffering couple both fear their wayward elder daughter Rosie (Helen Flanagan) is about to become a teenage mum.

But 18-year-old Rosie tells them: “I know I get blamed for everything around here, but you have two daughters and this has nothing to do with me.”

Sally and Kevin are dumbstruck as they realise the kit belongs to Sophie.

Sophie (Brooke Vincent) sobs as she tells them the result was positive.

While Sally accepts the news, car mechanic Kev blows a gasket, vowing to find the father and batter him.

But viewers will be left to wait and see whether the pregnancy is confirmed or whether it’s just another cry for help from attention-seeking Sophie.

If she is pregnant it will be the biggest under-age sex scandal to hit the soap since 13-year-old Sarah Louise Platt (Tina O’Brien) became soapland’s youngest ever mum back in 2000.

  • 3 weeks later...

Well the most unbelievable scene on Coronation Street (in fact in any soap) happened last night.

A Primary School Nativity Play with less than 100 kids on stage? Come off it!

 true

I'm looking forward to christmas on the street ^_^ The Tony/Jed Stone scene sounds really good

I loved the 'Rope' like feel to tonight's episode. Very Hitchockian indeed!!! Is it wrong for me to hope that Tony Gordon gets away with his evil deeds? He is the best soap villain since Charlie Stubbs or Tracy Barlow. Corrie shat on Eastenders tonight (Eastenders with all its phony 'feel-good' festive $h!te was just that ... $h!te! With Dot at her cringeworthy worst! When are they going to kill off and stuff this old bird?)

I love you Corrie!

Unfortunately ... Kenneth Cope plays the same character in everything he's in ... Kenneth Cope! He was quite witty in Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased) but he plays in the same fashion all the time. He was rubbish in Brookside too! I'm glad Tony strangled him with the knicker elastic!
