Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he would like a part in Coronation Street.

 

The Harry Potter star has claimed that he is a fan of the ITV soap and thinks he would enjoy appearing on the show.

 

He told The Sun: "I love Corrie. Being in that would be fun."

 

A spokesperson for the soap commented: "We would love to have him."

Doing a search for "Coronation Street" over at Rex Features turns up these (and other) paparazzi shots of Bev Callard and Ian Reddington filming their upcoming wedding scenes. Looks like it's going to be a white wedding with Vernon in semi-western style and Liz looking funky in her topper and white pant-suit (not a short skirt for a change but she's still got the plunging neckline). There are three pages of photos including a couple of photos that show blood on Vernon's white jacket, allegedly from an encounter with Liz's ex, Jim. Judging from the other cast photos there will be quite a good turnout for the nuptials but there doesn't seem to be any evidence of Liz's other son, Andy.

 

 

 

Vernon, however... he's got a white suit to match Liz's, but it's covered in bloodstains and accessorised with a black eye! He certainly looks like he's been in the wars. The Sun isn't revealing why, but drops a hint: "Jailbird Jim will be back for three weeks in the run-up to the nuptials to cause Liz as much trouble as he can." Oh 'eck!

Coronation Street actor William Roache faced embarrassment when just three fans turned up to a book signing for his new autobiography.

 

Roache - who plays Ken Barlow on the ITV1 soap - made an appearance at a Waterstone's shop in Wilmslow, Cheshire, to promote his book Soul on the Street.

 

However, the event clashed with a nearby Christmas lights switch-on by Manchester United's Edwin Van Der Sar, which proved to be more popular with local residents.

 

An onlooker told the Daily Record: "It was a bit embarrassing but William took it all in good heart. He's a great sport and was happy to speak to those who turned up."

 

William had planned to give a talk about the autobiography, but it was cancelled due to lack of interest.

 

Store manager Kyran Donald said: "There were about 25 to 30 requests for signed copies but not everyone could make it."

 

Pamela Kaye, 63, who was one of the three fans, revealed: "We had a very informal chat and he gave me a peck on the cheek. He was very lovely and very easy to talk to. I was very lucky because I was thinking about not going."

DEATH - VERA

 

Dies from a Heart-attack in the Duckworth's house, Paul is the only other person in the house at the time and heres Vera yell as she collapses. He runs down the stairs and finds her, but relucantly waits till she has died before phoning the ambluance.

 

Later as Vera's death makes shockwaves round the street. Paul goes to the Restaurant and burns letters addressed to Vera. One is a hospital appointment and another is a reminder. What is Paul Hiding?

Liam and Maria go to Irland so Maria can meet the parrents. However on the way to his parrents house, Liam has to veer out of the way of a boy racer and Maria and Liam plunge off a Cliff. Leaving Maria to loose her baby, but more importantly fighting for her life, and in a coma.

 

A RETURN

 

Sunita sheepishly turns up with the twins on Dev's doorstep. She has nowhere to go, as her family have disowned her after it was exposed that she was having an affair with a married man. Who has now dumped her. Could an old romance be about to be rekindled?

 

 

A MARRIAGE

 

Bill proposes to Audrey on new years eve at Liz and Vernon's wedding reception. Audrey accepts and they get married without any hicups in May 2008.

 

 

 

BIGGEST SHOCK RETURN

 

Tracy Barlow wins her appeal in the summer and is set Free in July (However, the character will not be played by Kate Ford) Derdrie however lies in court in order to get her daughter set free. Much to the dismay of Ken who kicks her out of his house and wants nothing to do with him. Meanwhile the social worker who turns up to check on Amy's welfare gets a little too close to Steve.

Coronation Street star Samia Smith has signed a new contract with the ITV1 soap.

 

The actress, who plays Maria Sutherland, has decided to stay with the show, despite close friends Tina O’Brien (Sarah Louise) and Nikki Sanderson (Candice) recently leaving.

 

She told The Sun: “I have just signed a new contract. So I can say confidently I’m going nowhere."

 

Talking about her former co-stars, she said: "I still see Tina and Nikki, but not as much as we used to do, obviously. It did feel strange when they were no longer working with me but I am very happy at Coronation Street.

 

"Being an actor, it is amazing to get to act all year round. I'm very lucky indeed to be in such an amazing programme."

 

Smith's character is currently pregnant and planning to marry factory owner boyfriend Liam Connor, played by Rob James-Collier.

Good new's, Samia's a good actress.

 

Who have thought she would still be there 7 years later. :o
