I was lucky to hear Scotty talking about his memories of working with Elvis, when I saw him at the Peabody on Memphis, this August. He's a really lovely guy and a fantastic guitarist, although sadly, ill health is now making it difficult for him to play his guitar now :( What I find so amazing, and I'm sure that many people who don't know Elvis aren't aware of, is that That's All Right, which had so much effect on the music scene and what came after, came about from a jamming session. They were about to go home for the night, after an unsuccessful session, when Elvis started singing that song and the other two (Scotty and Bill) joined in. That was the point when Sam Phillips realised he'd got something special  The B-side, Blue Moon Of Kentucky, came about in a similar way a few days later, thanks to Bill B) And so history was made

I've mentioned this before, but Scotty's site is so good, a wealth of great articles, photos and information and the venue part is terrific!

The latest addition to this section of the site is the 'Sportatorium' where Elvis and the boys performed for the first time on April 16th 1955. It’s a fascinating history of the venue!!
