'People that loved you once now don't. That's reality!'

It's been a while since Britney Spears sat down to talk on national television. The 25 year old pop star that - not long ago - stood for glamour and perfection now finds herself accused of everything. From being a horrible mother, to being a sinking pop star - now she fights back. PRIMETIME's Diane Sawyer had the ultimate chance to sit down with the one time golden girl to talk about what really went on. Spears getting things straight - from her ex husband to her previous relation ships. BRITNEY SPEARS - NO HOLDS BARRED. An ABC Primetime EXCLUSIVE.

Sawyer: A few years ago, you were sitting here. Talking about feeling free, having this amazing new album coming out...

Spears: I know, it's crazy... It's funny though, how things change. Yeah, it's surreal.

Sawyer: I feel that things have changed for the worse...?

Spears: Yeah, it's definetely been a long time.

Sawyer: To be honest, there's been two marriages eversince, two pregnancies, a divorce, this spasm of publicity...

Spears: I honestly think that there's a point in everyone's career where it just seems that people are turning against you and what you do. I mean, I've been in this industry all my life, it was just waiting to happen.

Sawyer: Yeah, but you have to admit that it didn't happen for no reason. There's been plenty of things that maybe you have done, that caught attention - in a negative way. Let's just sort some things out, the HEADSHAVING?

Spears: That was at a time in my life where I felt just completely exhausted. People started putting labels on me and getting things wrong from the start, and that actually has left its marks. I'm human. People hurt. Just as you get hurt, I get hurt aswell, so...

Sawyer: What about this break up between you and your mom?

Spears: That's something I do not want to talk about on television. I think that's none of anyone's business. I love my mother. She's been a big support though my whole career, but as I said there's been a time I probably even felt a little paranoid, maybe... I don't know, let's just change the subject.

Sawyer: The partying...

Spears: Yeah, I took it kinda too far...

Sawyer: Kind of too far? Are you serious?

Spears: Umm... I was going through a lot emotionally and I think I was just needing a break?! I don't know.

Sawyer: You left your underwear at home. Even using drugs?

Spears: Took it too far, maybe...?

Sawyer: What kind of break is this to you? That's all I want to know at this point.

Spears: It's maybe a break from reality. I'm sorry for the things I've done in the past. But I'm human. I make mistakes.

Sawyer: Mistakes in front of the world. People realized. Your little fans, some of them not even in puberty, saw pictures of you exiting Paris' car, showing your privates... And they look up to you, what does that make you thing?

Spears: Yeah, it's right and even obvious that the tide seemed to turn against me...

Sawyer: It's not a tide Britney. It's little children looking up to you thinking, 'Wow, that's my idol. If she does that, well there's nothing wrong with it. Let's exit cars halfway naked!"

Spears: I feel sorry for them. But umm... I don't really feel responsible maybe...? They have parents and their parents can control them actually in whatever they do. They can turn out the tv, they can block the internet, they have the power to do a lot of things, trust me.

Sawyer: But those are the one's buying your records, and you're making money out of them...

Spears: I'm not forcing anyone to go out and buy my cd...

For more on Britney's surreal life, turn on ABC's PRIMETIME with Diance Sawyer, October 17th, 6.30PM.
