Posted October 17, 200717 yr Blunt's Lost Souls tops charts in 13 countries 28 September, 2007 Source: MW By Paul Williams James Blunt’s All The Lost Souls has secured the best chart start for any UK album this year by reaching number one in 13 countries. The Custard/Atlantic album, which topped the UK chart last Sunday, has further made it to number one in Austria, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland and United Arab Emirates. The album also led five new entries by UK artists this week within the Top 40 of the Billboard 200 chart in the US, debuting at number seven with 92,000 sales, while the lead-off single 1973 has entered the Hot 100 at 73. All The Lost Souls’ predecessor Back To Bedlam reached number two in the US last year, while that album globally achieved the rare feat this decade of selling more than 10m copies. Atlantic UK president Max Lousada says, "This is a remarkable achievement for James and confirms his status as one of the UK's most popular recording artists, both at home and abroad. To follow the phenomenal success of Back To Bedlam with an album that has received such a warm critical and commercial reception is testimony to James’ evolution as an artist and a performer. "We’re extremely proud of our partnership with James and all of us at Atlantic congratulate him on another amazing record."
October 17, 200717 yr Good for him but I bought the album and wasn't overly impressed...1973 is the best track on there and that's hardly mindblowingly good I genuinely loved Back to Bedlam too
