Cheryl Cole has revealed that Girls Aloud have banned themselves from making any more cover versions.

The girlband have previously released new versions of others' hits including 'Walk This Way', 'Jump', 'I Think We're Alone Now' and 'I'll Stand By You'.

However, Cole believes that they're not worth the bother anymore because they can never improve on the originals.

She told the Daily Star: "There’s not one single cover on our new album. We don’t need to do them any more.

"You get fed up of it, and so do the fans. You can never better the original."

Well look at what covers did to Westlife

All the covers done have been amazing  I see Digital Spy missed off the gorgeous See The Day. Everytime I see and hear it live I get a shiver down my spine.

Let's hope we get more than one album with no covers in the future :cheer: after Tangled Up is over and done with after the singles and tour :D

Nah its very very rare for covers to be as good as the orignals

anyway, its good to hear, means we will always get brand new Girls Aloud material

I did quite like all their covers though

I think all the covers are better than the orginals - more up to date and feature great vocals form the girls. My opinion though...
I think GA 'Jump' betters the orginal! the Pointer Sisters version is terrible, slow paced and out of tune....imo!

I have liked all their covers, 'Jump' is my second fave GA song, and I was obsessed with STD when that came out

They shouldn't do anymore covers though imo, it's far more credible to release your own music (or music written for you  )

I LOVE it when Artists to Covers.

Oh if only Westlife would follow suit.

I agree tbh - I would put all their cover versions at the bottom of the pile if I had to rank GA's singles.
