What an utterly appalling, bland, lame selection of song choices with one fantastic exception:

Nightwish - Phantom of the Opera (cover of the Andrew Lloyd-Webber anthem).

I think I will stick with SCD again.

No wonder Rhydian is being edited badly, as he is clearly the only contestant with a personality & a significant musical ability (i.e. Like a Popera version of Will Young meets Darius) who is the only threat to a fixed Hope victory.

(PS. When will Girls Aloud fans continue to be in denial about their split in 2008 after further revelations this week.... (Nadine solo recordings in LA this week, Karen Poole claiming she has been commissioned to write for Nicola, Alison Clarkson (Betty Boo) calling Cheryl Cole a liar with regards being asked to write for her.... they are getting as deluded as Britney & Michael Jackson fans )

Yep!

Aretha Franklin, it should be quiet interesting, as it's a strange choice :)

well there certainly aint no stars in that crummy line-up.

The whole show is ghastly, I think.... you've got the duller of the Minogue's (and that's a tough call) sitting with a Botox-frozen face on a TALENT SHOW JUDGING PANEL (the irony surely can't be lost on her), Louis Walsh salivating and checking out the 'talent' (what interest could he possibly have in eeeek... OVER 25s? ), the man who 'created' Robson and Jerome reading his 'comments' from a pre-prepared script, regardless of how good the act is and a woman who's famous for a fly-on-the-wall reality show and for being married to a has-been old rocker (oh and she managed Smashing Pumpkins.... and was sacked) who wouldn't know a tune if it smacked her round the kisser with a housebrick (I mean, what mother with an ear for music would allow Kelly Osborne into a recording studio?).

The entrants this year are, to put it mildly, p*** poor. Of course, it's engineered for one of the 2 'groups' to win.... apparently Girls Aloud are splitting sometime this year, so it'll probably be that bunch of slutty old harpies without a note between them who'll 'win' the public vote (is anyone still daft enough to ever ring these things up these days?). 'Umbrella' was gut-churning enough with the other bird wailing it, it's excruciating done by the Butlins bitches.

You've got the brother/sister combo who look like they've spent every minute of their entire lives watching Grease and who make the MacDonald Brothers sound like the Walker Brothers, the Welsh goon who looks like he's been sent in a Tardis from Sigue Sigue Sputnik era 1980s and enough sob stories to keep the Pride of Britain awards in business til the next millennium.

There's literally only one good 'un among 'em... the girl who sang/slaughtered 'Nothing Compares 2U'. But if I hear about her father's death once more, I think I'll have to go seek her mother out to give her a matching pair and a place in the finals.

I think Saturdays are better spent watching the humiliation of Letitia Dean clomping round the dancefloor like she's got a club foot on BBC1 myself. Whenever I watch her, I can't help but think of Holiday On The Buses where they're at the holiday camp learning ballroom dancing with Arthur Mullard.

But didn't X-Factor get more ratings?

I'm sure it did.

I'm sure it did.

Only when it came back after the Rugby World Cup Final (which peaked with 15.81 million).

Even then it started with 10.93 million to watch Leona sing and lost over 2 million by the end (8.88 million), for the results at the end.

Still I wish the BBC would revert the SCD results back to a Live Saturday night after Casualty, instead of showing them on a Sunday.

Alisha - Say A Little Prayer

Same Difference - Breaking Free

Hope - Lady Marmalade

GET IT! B)

cant wait for 2nights show!

Oh I can... Celine Dion mentoring? Oh dear......
