Well Take That have shifted another 40k this week which should see them safely at number 2 again this Sunday in the UK. And they're a new entry at number 6 in the Italian chart and top 50 in Switzerland so they're not doing too bad. It was understandable that Westlife would do well in Ireland I suppose.

I think Westlife's was 10K less than Take That's sales ... still pretty impressive. And I do actually like the lads in Westlife - I just don't like that they do covers all the time - but hey ... it works ... as they say ... if it ain't broke ... don't fix it. Surely though ... with all the success and dollars they have behind them now they could stand up to Louis Walsh and say ... hey! We want a new, fresh song!

No - that 10k was UK. Someone told me and I can't remember whether it was here or on another site - that you only need to sell a couple of hundred to get a number 1 in Ireland. Obviously they were exaggerating and joking ... but they said singles aren't really a priority.

But that's what I love about Ireland, the laid-back nature to things that really aren't important! After all ... its only music and pop stars ... its not like its world-changing is it?

WEll in a way i agree the whole celebrity thing is a fascination here at all,but i dont understand why sales are such a guarded shield up against letting the public know the sales,many artists reckin irish people are the best audience as all they acre about is enjoyng the music and nothing else,we do like the crak or fun to others here in ireland alot,we aint too serious of people

By the way ... you've just got to get the de-luxe BW. I've heard smashing reports from German fans. The RTW video is the elongated one with more footage (assuming we in the UK get the same) and the interview by all accounts is hilarious (as was the interview on Ultimate Tour).
