Posted October 21, 200717 yr So we will use this thread to discuss the sales and charting of Britney's fifth studio album "Blackout". What do you all predict for her position and sales for debut in the US, UK, worldwide, and any other country you want to add in there? MINE: US: #1 (322,000) UK: #3 (28,000) Worldwide: #1 (815,000) Edited October 22, 200717 yr by Dirty Pop
October 21, 200717 yr YAY. :D Uk, Im guessing around 40/50k. It's a quiet week on Britneys release week, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's her first album that goes to #1. :o
October 22, 200717 yr Author I will be VERY surprised if she hits number one, but now that I look at it it is a quiet week.

MINE: US: #1 (322,000) UK: #3 (28,000) Worldwide: #1 (815,000) :o I would predict MUCH higher sales for US! At LEAST 500 plus imo ^_^
October 22, 200717 yr Nah, I don't think so. :( :o I know shes had truly AWFUL press and all that, but this album is very anticipated and I really do think its gonna have MASSIVE first week sales! ecspecially in the US ;) Im gonna go with 542,000 in US ^_^
October 22, 200717 yr Well, I hope you're right! I would p*** my pants if that happened! We can hope :D but I really do believe its first week US sales will be massive ^_^
October 22, 200717 yr Tyler you are american aren't u? i am sad u only predict that low, i am guessing 560,000k in U.S. and that is my low guess. if press effects sales it will be only the overall sales, but only time will tell. as for the uk sales i have no idea, i dont track those and i dont know who is big in that country, but here in the states, i expect an easy #1 with 560k plus
October 22, 200717 yr Author The reason my prediction is so low, is because sales have really decreased in the past 4 years (back when she was guaranteed to sell more then 600k her first week) and she doesn't have as much as a strong buying base! It is still very possible for her to sell 500k, but she has done NO promo whatsoever and predicting her to sell 322,000 on the back of a good single and a controversial name is good. Christina Aguilera promoted her ASS off when it came to B2B and it managed to sell about 350k in it's first week, I can not see her selling more then 450k at the most, 322k is the average number for me so I stuck with that one.
October 22, 200717 yr I'm gonna get bit more optimistic here and say :P : US : 500k+ (#1) UK : 50k (#2) WW : around 1 million (#1) ^_^
October 22, 200717 yr I have no idea, but I'm not very optomistic. Remember, In the Zone debuted at #14 in the UK. Edited October 22, 200717 yr by lotsofsnails
October 22, 200717 yr I agree a lot with your sales estimations Tyler but I'd say the album will sell between 30-40k in the UK. Sales in the U.S. aren't what they used to be so I think 300-350k is being pretty optimistic but hopefully she can sell more.
October 22, 200717 yr I'm not sure of first week sales, but I predict this to be a sales builder. People who aren't already die hard fans, may need convincing after the year she has had and a second single should do that.
October 23, 200717 yr Author I knew the album would be amazing! It's just a matter of Jive promoting it! I think it will dominate the charts, mind you!
