Posted October 23, 200717 yr Britney Spears' Fifth studio album "Blackout" is released in America next Tuesday (October 30th) and even though Britney has not done alot of promo for the album there is a ton of hype around it, and Jive have advertisements up for it in magazines and on MTV, VH1, and Music Choice commercials, not to mention radio promo. It also features her biggest hit single in the States since her debut single (Gimme More) . It has already recieved raving reviews from fans and critics, claiming it to be the best Britney album ever. So where do you think it will chart, and how much will it sell in it's first week. Her only source of somewhat competition is the Backstreet Boys. My Prediction: Debut at number one and sell right below 400k. I also think it could hold the position for two weeks, because there is no competition for her the following week. Edited October 23, 200717 yr by Dirty Pop
October 23, 200717 yr :o I am 99.9% sure it will sell ATLEAST 250k+ I'm not american so you know maybe better than me
October 23, 200717 yr I think number for sure, but sales maybe only between 100k and 200k. With such sales Carrie Underwood will beat her with her secon week sales :P
October 23, 200717 yr Author With such sales Carrie Underwood will beat her with her secon week sales :P Indeed, and I HIGHLY doubt that will happen.
October 23, 200717 yr With such sales Carrie Underwood will beat her with her secon week sales :P You voted for top 3? :o
October 23, 200717 yr Author Look at this station report! New Orleans news station reports "Expect Blackout to Sellout" Louisiana native Britney Spears has had a disasterous past year, but don't worry because her year is about to get better. We asked some local stores in the area to find out what they predict Blackout could bring in sells. K-Mart- "The hype around the album is already insane, and it's getting to the point where people are calling in and asking if they could sleep in front of the store to get her album once the store opens. We're actually thinking this album could sell-out by next Friday." Most local stores expect the same reaction by the Britney fans, and since the Britney fan base has grown in New Orleans many stores are expecting the album to sell-out at some point next week. Britney fans just be sure to be at your store early on October 30th. If the album news is not enough good news for you then we have more good news! Britney seems to be getting her life back together, and we have be told by JIVE Records New Orleans could be her first stop on the very secretive next tour. --------------------------------------------------------------- From WWLTV
October 23, 200717 yr #1 for sure with the first week sales between 400-450k (maybe more???), but the following week it will drop 50-60% to 180-230k :P Anyway it's a good album! ;)
October 23, 200717 yr I might be wrong, but I could see this being her first album to not debut at #1.
October 23, 200717 yr Author I might be wrong, but I could see this being her first album to not debut at #1. I could see what you were saying, but she has no competition
October 23, 200717 yr I might be wrong, but I could see this being her first album to not debut at #1. I agree
October 24, 200717 yr Author I agree Fair enough, if you don't think she will be number one, who do you think will?
October 24, 200717 yr You voted for top 3? :o #1 and I do believe she can hit half a million. With all the hype around her, why not? Plus even In the zone sold over half a million. It may fall quickly, but first week sales shall be decent.
October 25, 200717 yr Alicia Keys and Celine Dion are also debuting on that that day. I think Alicia deserves the #1 spot much more than Spears and Dion, but I think it will go like this: #1 Britney Spears [400,000-500,000+] #2 Alicia Keys [400,000-500,000] #3 Celine Dion [300,000-400,000] The numbers are high but this is the Christmas season and albums always sell more around this time. Spears and Keys released in Nov-Dec in 2003, and they both sold 600,000+ in the U.S, and they both have large fan bases. It's been 4 years since a studio album for the both of them so that alone will guarantee large sales. As for Celine, a lot of mothers will have Celine on their Christmas list. October 25, 200717 yr Britney's album got pushed up two weeks. Celine and Alicia are released on the 13th of November according to Billboard... For real? In that case I"m glad that Alicia has more of a chance at debutign at #1. I still think Britney be #1 with 400,000-500,000 sales.
