Posted October 26, 200717 yr This film was REALLY good. Sure graphics were a bit  for a big budget film and with quite well known actors but overall it was really good!! loads of twists and turns. I thought that the storyline was gonna be quite predictable but actually, it wasnt! although the ending i could see from the beginning. the thing that ruined the film for me was hearing Take That at the end -_- and for a film with Ricky Gervais and the guy from Lil Britain in it, obviously theres gonna be a bit of comedy lol

I don't know why you have to make the comment actually as I'm sure you walked out as soon as the credits began, in which case it should have had no bearing on your perception of the film. Most people these days do not sit through the credits anyway - which was a shame on this occasion as they will have missed all the outtakes that were shown after the credits ended. I agree on the film though .... it was great but I did find it very simple to follow - I thought it may be a bit more complicated than it was ... even my ten-year old seemed to get all of it ... including the humour. I would have preferred a bit more DeNiro in it and maybe a plot that was a bit more complicated but apart from that I'd give it 9 / 10. Kathy
October 28, 200717 yr I loved it :D And a Grim Reaper came in the cinemas too  He was going to sit next to us, but he went :(

October 30, 200717 yr If you guys enjoyed this film, I heartily recommend reading Neil Gaiman's fantastic Graphic novel... And, no, in this case, "graphic novel" doesn't mean 'comic', it actually means an "illustrated storybook"..... Charles Vess' wonderful paintings are totally integral to the book however....
October 30, 200717 yr i didnt mean it literally -_- i mean come on duh  Well I was only joking too Joao  ... there were no out-takes shown after the credits! At least I don't think there were ... I wanted to stay and listen to the song in surround sound but I would have felt a bit of a plum! Kathy

Well I intend reading some more of Gaiman's stuff ... as I said ... I thought the film would be more complicated than it was ... but it was pretty straightforward ... so I'll probably have a go at a book or two! It'll make a change from my usual Beryl Bainbridge (Saint Beryl!) Kathy
November 4, 200717 yr I got back from seeing this tonight, and whilst some of it was verging on the utterly bizzare, it was pretty good!! Pleasantly surprised! And how hot is Michelle Pfeiffer looking?! Edited November 4, 200717 yr by Andrewy
November 4, 200717 yr Hmm I may give this ago since I missed blacksheep  I really wanted to see it. Anyway who wrote Stardust.
November 4, 200717 yr Hmm I may give this ago since I missed blacksheep  I really wanted to see it. Anyway who wrote Stardust. Neil Gaiman. But the screenplay for the film was adapted from the book by Jane Goldman (Mrs Jonathon Ross)

And how hot is Michelle Pfeiffer looking?! I take it one of the bizzare bits you refer to was DeNiro in a frock! And yes Michelle Pfeiffer is just drop-dead-gorgeous to look at. Norma
November 8, 200717 yr I felt this film was weak in the myth dept - Neil Gaman or whatever his name the famous author isnt really all that great in my opinion and doesn't put enough thinking into his fantasy worlds - they seem too arbitrary and whimsical and this movie really shows off the setting as a place where anything can happen. It could be just me but after spending time in a world where anything can happen for so long I get tired and just long for the end. I dont know who to cheer for because I dont trust the rules .

I loved it. It was so simple and uncomplicated. Just a good old-fashioned fairytale told with humour. Plus it had Robert DeNiro in! What more could you ask? Norma
November 8, 200717 yr I absolutely agree with the above - I think that's exactly the reason I enjoyed Stardust so much - it doesn't strive to make any huge statements, doesn't try and have deep hidden meanings (none that I picked up on, anyway), and as such didn't set itself any goals which it couldn't achieve - just a really fun movie to watch IMO.

November 13, 200717 yr It's quite an enjoyable film. Some bits were ace but some were a bit dodgy...like the dead brothers weren't that funny considering.

I thought some of those bits were funny! I loved the serving wench being asked her name by Tristran .... the answer in a dead gruff voice "Bernard" I just love silly little things like that! Norma
