Alfie Has More Fame

 

Alfie Allen, a fast rising young actor, has been cast in the classic play Equus, as the teenager who blinds six horses.

 

Mr Allen was famously immortalised by his sibling Lily Allen, in the song entitled, simply, 'Alfie'.

 

Equus dramatist Peter Shaffer spotted the 21-year-old actor in Joe Wright's film Atonement, around the same time Equus producer David Pugh was listening to the explicit version of 'Alfie' on his iPod, where Ms Allen suggests her younger brother should get out of bed, "cos it's nearly half past three" (in the afternoon!).

 

"All of a sudden, I kept hearing the name Alfie from Peter Shaffer, from Robert Fox, one of the producers of Atonement, and in this song", Mr Pugh recalled to me yesterday.

 

Well Lily gets a mention :P
