i think they have both sold about 500k each but im not 100% sure......

Just found this in chart forum for the top selling albums of 2007.

32 (53) Breathless - Shane Ward 351,000

He isn't in the top 20 sellers for 2008 so must have sold around 400k of Breathless. I think his debut sold just over 500k.

I think the sales for 'Breathless' are now around 430,000, first album just over 500,000. He's sold 5 x platinum in Ireland (75,000) - more than the first. Second album also selling well in parts of Asia and South Africa (as did the first).

He's done well to sell that amount considering a bad first single choice in my opinion and very little radio support - he's obviously not one of Sony/BMG's 'priority' artists, but he has a fairly loyal fanbase and has worked hard - so good luck to him. Hope he gets a third album.

This is the total for 2006

35 Shayne Ward - Shayne Ward 459,200

U.K. sales: 510,000

Worldwide Sales: 792,275

Breathless

Released: November 26, 2007

Peak Chart Positions:

#15 United World Chart

U.K. sales: 425,000

His first album did a lot better than I thought it did.

Mine were up to 26th Dec munchkin so yours are a week after mine.

I don't take much notice of wikipedia as anyone can write any sales in there but 510k looks about right for his first album.

Mine were up to 26th Dec munchkin so yours are a week after mine. My figure of just over 400k looks about right as he fell pretty rapidly down the chart in 2008.

That's why I wrote "Assuming from source and not massaged " :D

According to the chart I looked at the figures were End of Year so he did well to move up that much in a week.

Still no new single announcement? :(
The single is confirmed as U Got Me So, like I said, as can be found in Music Week. But nothing on the video etc, and it's meant to be out on March 24th...
thats very close if it is, it'll probably get pushed back and back then cancelled

Confirmed by who though? Confirmation (to me) is when something is posted on the official website, which it hasn't been.

If I was a Shayne fan I'd be fuming. He's been treated very shabbily by SBMG and by the radio stations, totally sidelined in favour of Leona by the X factor programme as well.

He should have released a good first single, rather than the cr*p song he did release which made a mockery of him and confirmed people's music snobbishness towards him. I suppose if he had what it takes, he would have known it was an awful song, and he would have put his foot down.

Who knows, he may come up with the goods yet???

How's his tour selling?

Up to 2nd Feb the album has sold 420k

By Music Week, who are about as official as it comes in terms of release schedules and chart news...

Well, Simon Cowell apparently chose the first single (even Shayne's fans think it's one of the weakest tracks on the album) and he chose 'Bleeding Love' for Leona (agreed by most as one of her best tracks) so it's possible to see some sort of game plan isn't it? Do you think Shayne was/is in a position to say no to Simon Cowell? Even his best promotional opportunity - singing 'Breathless' on the X factor was handicapped by the single not being available for download for one week. Leona's of course was available within hours.

Sadly history always repeats itself. Cowell's support has always been fickle, lasting only as long as he sees someone as a cash cow. As for Shayne saying no to Cowell maybe he would gain more respect & longevity if he wasn't so manipulated.

I can't see Shayne ever being given any input. He not only has Cowell choosing songs but he's got Louis Walsh for a manager, who also likes to be in complete control. You only have to look at Westlife to see the result of their joint control.

Gareth said all he did when he was with BMG was turn up and record his songs. He was allowed no input at all, regardless of the fact that he is an accomplished musician.

But to begin with all reality winners are manipulated, (even Will Young). To break away they have to have someone powerful fighting their corner. Am I right in thinking Will had Simon Fuller backing him - or have I got that totally wrong? Shayne could just walk away and try and get another record deal of course, maybe he will. But at the moment he's making the best of what he's been given, and not doing a bad job of it. He has said he is writing for his third album, but that remains to be seen. As for longevity, well he won X factor over 2 years ago, so that's longer than many pop stars last!

Yes he did & Simon Fuller must have had faith in Will's talent to give him some creative control. Will is very shrewd & saw through Cowell long before he won PopIdol. As munchkin said I can't see Cowell or Walsh ever allowing Shayne any input. They pull the strings with all their artists. Maybe Shayne would like more say in his career or perhaps he's happy to be a one man Westlife. Depends why he's in the music business I suppose.

cowell is a sgrewd businness man and only thinks of himself once he gets a sniff an artists of his is dwindling he gets rid of them without a 2nd thought gareth gates is a prime example he really treated him badly i think

on about shayne thoug his he doing a third single of this album??
