February 29, 200817 yr This is from his website - doesn't mention any new single: I'm now up in Manchester just getting a few things sorted and seeing family and friends before I start more International promotion in March. As I've said before, it's really exciting to be so well received in other countries and I can't wait to see fans again that I met on the first album promotion and also meet new fans. It's not too far now from the start of my Breathless tour! I've started work on the creative aspects and have been thinking lots about new ideas etc which could look really cool. I cant wait to get on the road again and see you all, it's going to be a great show! Anyway, I'd better be off now. I'll be back on soon to update you all. Take Care Shayne
February 29, 200817 yr cowell is a sgrewd businness man and only thinks of himself once he gets a sniff an artists of his is dwindling he gets rid of them without a 2nd thought gareth gates is a prime example he really treated him badly i think on about shayne thoug his he doing a third single of this album?? You're right there. Simon treated Gareth disgracefully, with not a thought to the emotional side of what Gareth was going through. He couldn't promote himself properly, because he couldn't speak up for himself. He was very young and was taken out of a very close family oriented situation, when, although he may have thought he was at the time, he wasn't ready for it. When it all caught up with him and he wanted his break, and to put his own input into what he was producing, Simon and Co weren't prepared to allow him to. I don't know if anyone has actually listened to the lyrics in the songs from Gareth's third album, but the hurt and loneliness he was feeling back at the time when he was writing it, is very obvious to me. Where he speaks of amongst other things `should I go, or should I stay', its obvious he didn't know what to do for the best at the time. Thank goodness he's now been given the time by Simon Fuller to get his life into some sort of perspective. Things are much happier for Gareth now, he's enjoying his stint in DOI, is engaged to a beautiful lady, with wedding plans for later this year I believe, and is getting back into his music, which is his life, as soon as the Ice Dancing is over. Gareth said all he did when he was with BMG was turn up and record his songs. He was allowed no input at all, regardless of the fact that he is an accomplished musician. I hope things will work out for Shayne, because I believe he's got a fabulous voice and it would be such a waste if it didn't. It does worry me that he hasn't got that musical accomplishment that Gareth has got though. Gareth is finding it hard enough to be accepted in this business even with it. IMO that is as a result of the damage done to his personality and character after PI from all kinds of circles, and by the choices that were made for him, when he was too young and naive to stand up for himself. And I'm not saying that all people at the age of 17 would have suffered the same fate, but the added difficulties Gareth had to contend with made it much harder for him. However getting back to Shayne, I really think his second album was very good and honestly think it should have done even better than it did. I do agree with what someone else said in this thread, that, he didn't get the support from the Radio Stations (although he did get more than Gareth), that some others have had in the past and still get. And we all know that these days, unless you get that support, there is very little chance of getting your music listened to.
February 29, 200817 yr I don't think DOI is doing Gareth many favours TBH. He comes across as somewhat arrogant, short tempered and harps on constantly about Chris and Suzanne having an advantage either on ice, or with dancing. It comes across badly. He has his own advantage in probably having more voting fans from the right age range than the other two. Good luck to him anyway, he's doing really well. I think Shayne does have a good voice, and he also has a more acceptable 'image' compared to Gareth, as a pop star, anyway. His album hasn't sold that badly, so I'm confused why his record company have sort of abandoned it already???
February 29, 200817 yr Well according to Admin on Shayne's official site his new single is out 'in the summer'. Very vague to say the least, seems as though they might have given up on this album - what a shame, especially as the best tracks are as yet unreleased. Seems as though they want Shayne out the way, so they can concentrate on their other artists.

Well, I would have been knocked off my feet if you'd said anything other than that TBH. Strange how most people who have commented on the internet don't agree with you isn't it. Most people I've seen say things have said he's handling the whole thing really well  I don't think Gareth has harped on any more about them having an advantage than Chris has harped on about not having one. What sort of age range do you reckon watches HollyOaks then?  I actually think Suzanne may win and deservedly so if she does. Whoever does its great to be able to watch Gareth every week  Well according to Admin on Shayne's official site his new single is out 'in the summer'. Pity though because there are some really good songs that could be released as singles on Breathless.
February 29, 200817 yr They wasted money on the ITOWY video... I doubt they will spend anymore, unless they Re-release the album with a new single in the summer. Edited February 29, 200817 yr by Brokentelephone
March 18, 200817 yr Shayne is currently Number 1 on Danish itunes and has been for the last few days with "No U Hang Up" after his performace on Denmark's x factor on Friday. His album is also Top 5 in Danish itunes. He obviously can't compete with the Leona juggernaut, but this is good for him all the same. Hopefully they will now release his singles and album in the rest of Europe.
March 18, 200817 yr That's nice for him, how come they haven't brought out a 3rd single over here yet? it's been 6 months since his last single, I can't see them releasing anything off his last album now unless it's being re-released maybe?

Yes I'm not optimistic there will be another single. I think we can safely say that Syco didn't want him getting in the way of Leona's promotional efforts, and they didn't have the time or resources to release a third single off "Breathless". I think the only reason they let him appear on Denmark's x factor was because Leona was unavailable on Friday as she was doing her Sport's Relief appearance!
