Marks out of 100% instead of out of 10 this time so I can differentiate the quality of the tracks more easily

1. Believe Again: A sensational opener...EVERYONE I've played it to loves it, its just a brilliant, dramatic but excellent track and will be her best single since Innocent Eyes...96%

2. In This Life: This took a couple of weeks to grow on me properly when I first heard it but I love it now...its just pure power pop...definitely a good choice for first single if not the best track on the album...90%

3. Possessionless: This track is just instantly catchy...I suppose the lyrics hark back to the Mistaken Identity period and that was when she was at her creative peak in my opinion even if her popularity went down a bit. Great song! 94%

4. God Laughs: This track sort of pleasantly passes by, a good sway your arms in the air sing a long sort of pop track with charming lyrics...good but not incredible...87%

5. You Will Only Break My Heart: Completely different direction for Delta which is nice to hear...a lot of people called it Reggae style but its not really, more upbeat happy pop...great uplifting song...89%

6. The Guardian: A classic power ballad, this one wasn't written by Delta and sounds perhaps more like a Celine Dion track. Very atmospheric and quite similar to Together We Are One in some ways...she sings it incredibly well 88%

7. Bare Hands: All credit to Delta for trying something different but I can't get into this track...its the Miscommunication/Running Away of this album in the respect that its a step down in quality...b-side material...63%

8. Woman: This is a great track. The lyrics are perhaps a bit over the top and cheesy. It was written by Westlife's songwriters and you can hear how similar it sounds to a Westlife track, Delta sings it well though and you feel as though she believes in the lyrics...91%

9. I Can't Break It To My Heart: Another dramatic power ballad, this one shows off Delta's vocal actrobatics well...a good song, and very radio friendly, would make a good single...88%

10. Brave Face: Some heavy and different instrumentation in this track but its another pleasant track on the album. Delta wrote this one so you know she means what shes singing here! A good structure to the song too and catchy! 90%

11. One Day: This is very very different to the rest of the album...an uptempop guitar pop song about what Delta wants to achieve in her life...not dissimilar to a Rogue Traders or Natalie Imbruglia track its very very catchy! 90%

12. Angels In The Room: A pleasant ballad to finish the album a la Fragile/Will You Fall For Me though it has more intense production than those two tracks...not an album standout but a pleasant closer and a grower! 87%

Probably 4 or 5 Great Delta tracks on here which would be good on a Delta greatest hits of the future...perhaps 6 or 7 tracks are verging on great but pale in comparison to some of the album tracks on Innocent Eyes or Mistaken Identity...This album is a real progression for Delta and in some ways feels like a step forward with her image for example. However after the intense honesty of Mistaken Identity the album's cheesier songs feel like a step back...This is an excellent album and one of 2007's best but I would say its only Delta's 3rd best album. Bare Hands doesn't sound particularly authentic and I wouldn't recommend Delta to do any dance songs in the future. On the other hand, Believe Again is amongst her finest work so perhaps the dramatic string-laden Disney-esque ballads are the way forward...If Take Me Home had been on the album instead of Bare Hands I think it would have flowed just a little bit better but still the b-sides of the Mistaken Identity era such as The Riddle, Silence Be Heard and Visualise were bertter...Definitely a return to happiness for Delta on this album but drama seems to be an area that she excels in and it would be nice to hear some more over the top tracks from Miss Goodrem! Good work Delta!

Overall: 9/10

good read but your insane!!

bare hands is a real grower, best lyrically out of the whole album. i adore it now!

i believe this is deltas best work to date. it has moved her up to world standard. IE had fantastic singles but the other songs were not that great, very under produced. MI is very hard to relate to and is not delta at all. the lyrics are very truthful and such but she was a very different/weird person during this period. this new album has much better quality songs and a lot are of single quality.

in saying that, one day is the rotten egg of the album. its ok but is very annoying. i would have only had it on the japanese album. i think it should be replaced for right here in my heart..maybe take me home for the uk and us album.

I just can't get into Bare Hands...even though the lyrics aren't bad the electro-sound is weird

Innocent Eyes and Mistaken Identity are my two favourite albums of all time for different reasons...IE because of the memories it has for me...I just love every song on there apart from Running Away which is only ok...Mistaken Identity is just sublime...I know it wasn't a commercial success but songs like Extraordinary Day, Electric Storm and Be Strong were in a class of their own. One Day isn't amazing but I find it charming to listen to :D

Still, difference of opinions is good! It would be boring if everyone liked the same songs

I really can't get into this album at all :(

Its pretty weak compared to her last two albums tbh.

I know what you mean, Conor... I can't find myself in this new Delta formula.. at all...

Well, anyway, it's ok. i love Bare hands, ICBITMH and Possessionless. The rest it... ok, I guess...

MI simply rocks, it's the best album!

And asd for Runing away and Miscommunication - I just adore them. RA is propably the best on IE - I dislike the title track and In my own time, but RA is really catchy...

Album arrived yesterday through the post. Just started to listen to it. Believe Again was great - good start to the album. Just listening to In This Life at the moment.

Edit: Liking the album on first listen with favourite being I Can't Break It To My Heart.

I quite like One Day as well.

:o You dislike Innocent Eyes

I also love In My Own Time...I can really relate to the lyrics plus it was the first album track I heard as it was also the b-side to Born To Try in the UK ^_^

I really like 'Bare Hands'!!!

It's not that I dislike it...it just doesn't sound quite right on this ballad heavy album
