Well not like it wasn't obvious! Anyways I'm super happy, another deserved #1.
WOO!!! Delta is #1! Best news ever! So thats 3 #1 albums now, how cool is that! Did Kylie achieve this with her first 3 albums does anyone know?

BRILLIANT!

Does anybody know the sales?

Yay!! Tbh i was a little nervous it wouldn't get no.1 with some negative feedback on the OF!

Third number 1 album. That's brilliant.

It has also been certified platinum as well.

Platinum is 70000 units :)

And FABULOUS news!! I'm so happy!! :D Gooooo Delta!!

So she's sold at least 100 copies then?

How many copies do you need to sell to get the #1 album down under?

read the post above you :P

I'm delighted it's done so well, but rather worried it's "only" been certified Platinum, as Mistaken Identity was 3x Platinum in its first week and 5x in its second week...

Delta Goodrem Grabs Number One On Low Sales

by Paul Cashmere - October 29 2007

Delta Goodrem's third album has debuted at number one in Australia, but with figures much lower than expected.

'Delta' sold 23,072 units across Australia, around 12,000 units less than Gold.

The figure was well below the fastest seller for the year, Powerfinger's 'Dream Days At The Hotel Existence', which debuted with sales of 40,847.

Michael Buble's 'Call Me Irresponsible' is the second fastest seller of the year on 37,005 units in the first week.

Silverchair are third with 'Young Modern' clocking in 35,627 units in the first week. Missy Higgins 'On A Clear Day' did 34,529 units and Foo Fighters are in fifth place with 'Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace' selling 31,445 units.

The Australian Top 5 albums this week are:

1. Delta Goodrem : Delta

2. Matchbox Twenty : Exile On Mainstream

3. James Blunt : All The Lost Souls

4. Foo Fighters : Echoes, Slience, Patience & Grace

5. Rogue Traders : Better In The Dark

but on analysing this i think is a positive. MI was released right on the Xmas rush, sold will in the first two weeks then fell from the chart. Delta was released way off xmas buying time. i believe that Delta will be a long charting album and will be more like IE. gradual sales unlike MI that was instant. xmas is coming up so the album will motor

'Delta' Debuts At #1!

Delta Goodrem's third studio album 'Delta' has debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart following its Australian release on October 20th. Certified platinum (70,000 units) upon its release, 'Delta' featuring the energetic and ridiculously catchy #1 hit single 'In This Life'.

Swiftly embraced by media and fans, yesterday's announcement at the 2007 ARIA Awards of the #1 album debut delivered Goodrem her third #1 album debut and a total of thirteen #1 chart positions (including 8 #1 singles, three #1 albums and two #1 DVD releases).

As Delta's 8th #1 single 'In This Life' moves her up to equal third position as the 'Female with the Most No.1's in Australia' following none other than Madonna and Kylie.

However, one thing that Delta has done faster than Kylie and Madonna is to accumulate her No.1's in a shorter time-period. Madonna took 21 years to have 10 chart-toppers, Kylie took 16 years and Delta has taken under 5 years.

SONY BMG seem happy because its a boost to their low sales. october is a quiet month. i think its good the sales are low, makes for a longer chart life, plus only one single is out and two public performances

Hmm...future singles should ensure that it hangs around...the sales aren't that good though really are they :o I thought the Australian public had embraced the 'new' Delta after the 'depressing' Mistaken Identity
