October 30, 200718 yr Probably, its because Take That's song is brilliant and a lot of people love it? As for Westlife, their song is a c**p cover and nobody wants it except for their hard core granny fans? Locott ... don't be so disrespectful to the older generation. Had it not been for the fact that I had children fairly late in life ... I could be a granny too! But I'll tell you one thing ... if I was ... I certainly wouldn't be listening to Westlife! Kath
October 30, 200718 yr Woooooo. Leona sales are amazing! I'm not surprised Mcfly haven't fallen as much as usual, it's half term this week. it mught be half term where you are but most of the uk wen't back today they had last week off
October 31, 200718 yr I'm glad to see Whitney in the Top 10 Albums, I want her to actually return one day. I can sense a flop though, maybe she's best left in the past. I'm still buying her album though even if there is no new material. I'm a sucker for a good vocal range. :(
October 31, 200718 yr I'm a sucker for a good vocal range. :( Alas me too. :( Her last album was dire though. She was meant to be coming back by the end of 2007, she's been working with Ne*Yo and she's back with Clive Davis and she's clean and sober now so fingers crossed eh? -_- I think her album has been pushed back to Spring now though, just in time to clash with Mariah, Madonna and Janet Jackson... :arrr: As for the midweeks - I'm SO pleased Leona has held up with the sales, 50k is excellent and not that much less than last week. If she can break 200k again this week she will have the biggest selling single of the year without a doubt by the time the single is finished. Pleased for Britney I suppose, she's not far behind #2 so hopefully she can take that slot, her sales aren't bad either - looks like #3 is becoming her lucky number. Oh and absolutely thrilled for the Westlife not-doing-as-well-as-they're-meant-to-age. I did say that as far as dire covers go Home is definitely their worst.
October 31, 200718 yr I knew Avril would flop with 'Hot', but I was expecting about 15 places higher. :o I really like it now. :(
October 31, 200718 yr after all whitney has been through im glad she is doing well ,im surprised its doing so well as there is nothinh new on it and the fact her greatest hits album still pops in and out of the chart i think leona will be this years best seller after the x factor winner
October 31, 200718 yr The deal with Keane is that the USB stick version of the single (was released on CD, 7" and USB) came with a free wrist strap attached to the USB stick, you can see it in this picture - http://i11.ebayimg.com/08/i/000/bf/c8/37aa_1.JPG I assume no-one at the record company realised that the stupid 'no packaging which can function as something other than packaging' rule applied with the new USB sticks. They'd released USB sticks for their past two singles with the straps with no chart eligibility problems, because back then USB sticks didn't qualify. Seems a bit mean of them if you ask me, seeing as it's for charity - why could they not just exclude the USB stick sales??? :(
October 31, 200718 yr could i ask if you know where Oasis are this week with Lord dont slow me down Oasis currently sit at #27 - OUCH. That's a whopping 17 place drop.
November 2, 200718 yr Could you tell me where cribs are in thursday's update? thanks in advance. Cribs were stuck at (turn number 13 around) yesterday!
November 2, 200718 yr Any idea where Mcfly are in the singles chart? Down 6 places from last week's number 3.
November 2, 200718 yr Still going to be the same 1 and 2 I expect. Norma Take That have a comfortable lead of 9k over Westlife, so yes, the same top 2.
