November 3, 200717 yr I can't believe after all the hype and controversy, her new album will end up selling just under 50k in its first week! Hmmm! And shouldn't album sales at this time of year be really good? especially for a hyped up release like this? I'm not trying to compare my Madge to Britney but look at the way people constantly slag Madonna off and label her old and yet for someone old and irrelevant to sell 217k (Confessions on a dance floor) in its debut week compared to a 25 year olds 50k of hype and controversy?! Oh well, i hope britney manages to get a #1 UK album soon, i'm sure she will! :)
November 3, 200717 yr You've managed to not be so arrogant for quite a while now and I dare say I thought you were a decent poster, what happened to that? Anywho, the difference being Madonna had huge acclaim upon her return and all she got was good press. Plus she hadn't been constantly in the tabloids in the 18 months prior to her comeback, hadn't had her 2 children taken off her, had a huge divorce, shaved her head, had 2 stints in rehab, got charged with a hit and run etc. That's all negative publicity and some people really do take a moral stance against all that stuff.
November 3, 200717 yr Oh no don't get me wrong i'm not being arrogant anf i am inded a lovely poster, u need to try and figure me out poop cake :) I do really like Brits, i have all her albums for mariah's sake, all i'm saying is that after all this attension that shes been getting, her albums barely sold much and isn't all forms of attension supposed to sell ur records. Look at Madge, she pissed of religious groups and behaved like a shhlag-bag to sell her Like a Prayer album and that sold bucket loads! Maybe Brits' giving up her kids and all the other naughty things shes been doing aint good enough? Don't u think kell?

Maybe Brits' giving up her kids and all the other naughty things shes been doing aint good enough? Don't u think kell? The bits I bolded are poor attempts at sarcasm. I mean for Mariah's sake? You really think Mariah is my God? I love Mariah's music, but by no means is she a God. See I don't know whether the things I bolded are meant to bother me or not? I think they are, but I don't understand why they're meant to bother me? I mean I think I recall you being older than me and it's actually quite childish for a bloke of your age to be acting so immaturely, I just don't quite understand you.
November 3, 200717 yr Oh Kelly! I really think u overreact sometimes! You seem so insecure, i have no intention to annoy you, its all in your pretty head, those comments are harmless, you girls honestly! I wasn't implying that Mariah's your God, see...you crack me up with your over the top interpretations! I was just trying to be humourous and obviously i've failed so i'm sorry if you feel offended honestly! And to Britney fans in here, i'm seriously not making diggs at her, i really like her, i just hope some of you won't react the way our friend Kel has! Silly Kelly and i'm 24, only a few years old, your're 22 right? Duh! :) Anyways...the beat goes on! :yahoo:
November 3, 200717 yr I'm not trying to compare my Madge to Britney Oh no of course your not  : yet for someone old and irrelevant to sell 217k (Confessions on a dance floor) in its debut week compared to a 25 year olds 50k of hype and controversy In all fairness, Madonna may have the upper hand on album sales, BUT Britney has the better album quality.

Duh! :) Anyways...the beat goes on! :yahoo: Oh i'm not offended i'm just really puzzled by you, do you feel like you're being a "true fan" and doing Madonna some kind of service by being sarcastic about her peers? If not, then why do you do it? You really do baffle me. I think pretty much everyone interprets your posts the same way I do but most just ignore you, as I usually do, but I wanted to ask you not out of annoyance but curiosity why you are the way you are? I mean I am a Mariah Carey fan but I would never go the lengths that you go to, Madonna seems to mean a lot more to you than you just being someone who appreciates her music. Oh and I stand corrected, we're actually the same age. I mean some of your posts come across as normal but then some of them just scream "I'm only being sarcastic about Britney/Christina/Celine/Mariah/Janet/Jennifer/Whitney because they're hugely famous and successful females like Madonna and I don't like people thinking that they're better than Madonna so I must be sarcastic about them and attempt to be subtle whilst insulting them because it's what Madonna would want me to do" - it seems more of a cult than anything else. Maybe it's a Kaballah thing, I don't know. You can even tell that I am genuinely interested in your psychological state and your apparent obsession with Madonna because i'm not even concerned about arguing with you. On that note i'm off to bed, reply in this thread or PM me I really do genuinely want to know more about you, i'm not even being sarcastic.

Madonna's last album was the biggest dissapointment in a cd I have ever had. Quality over quantity bebeh <3
November 3, 200717 yr Meh, Madonna's Confessions On A Dancefloor and Brit's Blackout are both GREAT dance/pop albums, so I'm not even gonna get involved.
November 3, 200717 yr Oops i did it again, the fastest selling album for a female in the usa EVER only debuted at no. 2 here. Face it, britney isnt an album person over here. Anyway considering her last studio record came in at 13, going upto no. 2 proves britney has stayin power.
November 4, 200717 yr Am i the only one who thinks 50k for Britney is really good? :/ She has done no promo, bad press for months etc yet she can still shift 50k in a week? Madonna did promo, had good enough press, 'Hung Up' was huge and the fact it was Madonna and two years ago got her the big sales... Comparing Britney and Madonna is so silly :/
November 4, 200717 yr Wahey! ^_^ So how many albums has she had debut at number 2 in this country now? 3? Edit: Just checked the stats above, so 3 have but BOMT rose to number 2? I didn't think she did that well. Edited November 4, 200717 yr by Milk Maid
November 4, 200717 yr I can't remember debuts, but I know BOMT Oops the Greatest Hits and Blackout have all peaked at #2 at some point in the UK ...
November 4, 200717 yr I can't remember debuts, but I know BOMT Oops the Greatest Hits and Blackout have all peaked at #2 at some point in the UK ... BOMT debuted at No.8 but it eventually peaked at No.2 (some months after its release) Oops!, Greatest Hits and Blackout all debuted at No.2. So, her album peaks in the UK are: No.2 Baby One More Time (1,155,000) No.2 Oops!... I Did It Again (990,000) No.4 Britney (385,000) No.13 In The Zone (495,000) No.2 Greatest Hits: My Prerogative (810,000) No.2 Blackout (?,???,??? - :P) "In The Zone" peaked at No.13 but it ended selling better than "Britney". It debuted at No.14 but it rose again and peaked at No.13 on the strength of the third single "Everytime".
