After listening quite a lot since I got the album on Wednesday, here are my thoughts on each song:

 

Believe Again - An incredible song! The intro gives me shivers and the whole song has a really epic feel. I think their could be some good remixes too. 97%

 

In This Life - I like this song, but a bit tired of it after hearing it too much :P ! Very positive and upbeat pop song. 86%

 

Possessionless - I really love this song. The melody is really catchy and I love the lyrics. Sounds a little R&Bish to me! 94%

 

God Laughs - The tune is very simple, but I love the message in this song. I relate very personally to these lyrics too and it is nice to have a positive song come from such a bad thing to happen to her family. 90%

You Will Only Break My Heart - A fun, reggae style song. Thought I'd hate it but I love it! 86%

 

The Guardian - I wasn't sure of this song at first, but after listening many times I adore it. It's quite a haunting melody! 94%

 

Bare Hands - I wasn't sure of the electro style of this at first. But now I really enjoy it! Not sure about the talky parts in it, but the rest I like. 90%

Woman - On the first few listens I felt really let down that this song was on the album. Delta can write songs much better than this herself, so I felt it was a waste to put a song that would normally end up on a x-factor winners album. However I now do like the song a lot! The emotion Delta puts into the song saves it I think. 80%

 

I Can't Break It To My Heart - It took a few listens to get into this song, but now I think it is my favourite on the album. It is to me almost like the LNOE of this album! Adorable song. 99%

 

Brave Face - I don't really like this song much at all. Maybe I will grow to like it! 55%

 

One Day - Again I'm not that keen on this song, although I think I'm liking it more the more I listen to it. It definitely does sound Rogue Traders/ Natalie Imbruglia ish as others have said. I don't like where she says One Day I'll marry and take his last name - cuz I don't want Delta McFadden - it doesn't sound right :lol:! 68%

Angels in the room - This song was another slow burner on the album for me. I really like it though, the melody is beautiful. It is like the 'Fragile' of this album, but not quite as good. 92%

 

Overall - I think the album is a solid effort! I don't think it feels as amazing to me as IE or MI, but there are some great songs on here. I wish she had written something with some of the writers she used on IE and MI (Gary Barlow, Elliot Kennedy, Vince whatshisname etc)! There is nothing on here quite as good as 'Last Night On Earth' though!! 94%

Brave Face, is a like it or hate it song, i don't know which for yet but its always stuck in my head so must be good...The guardian is the first track and possessionless that really stuck out for me....

i really adore this album. it shows a more vocal and creative delta. i think it is right up there for me

Brave face and One day is so childlisssh...i wish she composed songs like Extraordinary day, Analyst (im addicted now, btw :D) or Last night on Earth. I always admired the way she can talk about the feeling without naming them straightly. And now... now is definitely different :(

Love this album! Just amazing to have the album and the new songs!

 

Its just what Delta needed I think - I'm in love with many if not all the songs atm! So probably kinda early 2 say what my fav songs are or my least fav. But its a good review of Delta by Delta*Fan*Mel
