Delta Goodrem fulfils Melbourne Cup anthem dream

WHEN Delta Goodrem sings the national anthem at today's Melbourne Cup, she will fulfil a dream.

 

During an exclusive photo shoot for the Herald Sun, Goodrem said she was nervous but thrilled to be in Melbourne to sing the anthem.

 

"I have very fond memories of the Melbourne Cup," Goodrem said.

 

"When we were in primary school I can remember in grades 4 and 5 stopping to watch the race. Everyone really got into it."

 

Goodrem fancies Purple Moon, but she would have picked last year's winner Delta Blues if the horse had been running this year.

 

"Delta Blues won last year and it seemed everyone but me had money on the horse," she said.

 

"I had all my family and friends say how they won on the horse."

 

Goodrem is on a high after her new album, Delta, went straight to the top of the charts. After the Cup she goes to Asia and then Europe for a March release of the new tracks.

 

Then she hopes to do a nationwide tour of Australia.

that really does not look like her. i guess they all look odd on cup day. she will be looking better for the performance i guess

that performance was mimed but oh well! it was still great :)

i doubt it, she doesnt do that. it would be to risky as she is on the comeback.

 

plus she was going to sing it on the piano but that got knocked back just days before the event, wouldnt have been the time for a mime

She SOOOOOOOO mimed, no doubt bout it.

Btw she looks a little "different" in that pic because she's dressed up as a jockey!
