1st Impressions: We first met Darius, of course, in Popstars where the super arrogant singer/songwriter was sent packing after a toe-curling embarrassing rendition of Britney's HMBOMT. How we laughed as he told juidges he'd still have a platinum-selling album before he was 35. It was even more toe-curling when a slightly humbler Darius turned up to Pop Idol auditions the following year still intent on making that dream come true!

 

How Did He Turn It Around? It took a while but Darius finally managed to win over the public thanks to a very wise image change and then an even wiser decision to tone down his arrogance plus some impressive displays of undoubted musical ability. Mind you he nearly didn't make it to the PI finals - but was drafted in as a last minute replacement for Rik Waller who was struck down with a throat infection. He eventually came 3rd only narrowly losing out on his place in the final to GG and WY. Oh, and he did have a platinum selling album before he was 35.

It is annoying that there is no mention of his starring roles in Chicago and Guys and Dolls nor any mention of Live Twice going Gold or a third album in the pipeline - no wonder people who don't follow his progress think he has disappeared off of the music scene!!! :angry:

Well I have to say that perhaps it wouldnt be good for Rhydian to win/ However I havent watched the X factor until I saw Rhydian by chance . I still dont watch it only his performance as I do think he has a fantastic voice and the show will be dead in the water when he goes out. There would be an opening for him with the fact that Russell watson is off the scene due to illness. SC has said he is world class but whether he means it we shall see. Regarding the write up on Darius, re the arrogance they keep banging on about, to me it is very obvious in all these shows that there is a fall guy with the arrogance tag, it is surely a format they work on, it shows the same thing in americas next top model, britons next top model, a number of other reality shows, they all have the candidate who is considered arrogant and Rhydian is getting the same tag for the current x factor., I see that WY performed in LA recently and I do wonder now that D has been based there so long why he hasnt done some gigs there, it is very strange.

Its up to D, his agent, management etc surely to do something about this.

Another boring list to fill an empty space - how many times can they repeat the same old articles on the pretence that there's some up-to-date connection. Those things really irritate me.

It's good to see messages of support though.
