:o Why could they not have done this next week!, how f***ing annoying, and how come 290,000? thats quite bad sales considering what they were expecting.

I..I..I...I'm just....absolutely...livid...I can't believe they would do that, it's so cruel,   changing the rules on the day before the chart gets announced, just before britney's position gets announced. it's so unfair. it's so unprofessional. they can't just change the rules whenever they want. the eagles got paid millions for it to be a wal-mart exclusive, and still theyre allowed on the chart, it's so unfair. it's wrong, it's so so wrong.

i suppose....i mean....the only comfort is that it might get to #1 at some other time due to a very popular single...

Although the time they chose to announce the new rule is a bit sketchy, it's more than fair.

At the end of the day, The Eagles sold nearly 2.5 times what Britney did, why shouldn't they be #1? it's even more impressive that it was sold all through one chain of stores. Don't you think that an album that sells 700K deserves to be #1? I'm sure your tune would be different if it was Britney who was in the position of The Eagles.

well lets look on the bright side...

britney's string of #1 albums ended with the greatest hits anyway

even if billboard hadn't changed the rules people would still regard the eagles as having #1

plenty of good albums have only got to #2, been blocked by something else. Madonna's greatest album Ray of Light only got to #2, blocked by the titanic soundtrack, but it doesn't mean people think any less of it.

who knows, maybe it will get to #1 at some other time due to a hit single reviving interest in it

I agree! No.2 isn't bad and she got there without promoting her album. At the end of the day The Eagles are no.1 as they sold alot more than Britney.

Blackout might climb back up in the charts so there's still time.

A lot of people expected her to flop, nobody can hardly call a no2 album a flop, unless you are perezhilton of course. -_-

Good on her for at least selling music when no one thought she would.

It's really good a nº.2 album without any kind of promotion and I'm really proud of her :D of course The Eagles deserve to have a nº.1, every singer/band does, but the fact here is that Billboard could've waited for the next week to change the policies it was unfair doing it on the day before the announcements of the charts, I like this change but it was unfair, not only to Britney, to many artists too, of course her album wasn't a flop and of course I'd prefer a nº.1 album, but nº.2 is also very good and she can hit nº.1 in the following weeks, I didn't like what Billboard did, they could've waited for the next week.

BB screwed her over, but selling just short of 300k is great for today. Congrats to the Eagles as well.
Seriously?! That's ridiculous! Totally screwed Britney over. It's officially ended her streak of #1 with studio albums then as well... whatever, guess we'll have to settle for #2 then.
TBH The previous rules were awful :( To not be able to chart because you only sell your album in 1 chain of store is stupid :(
I wish they would've stated this before we were counting on the album being #1 and now crushing our hopes. Maybe this was their dirty little plan the whole time. Oh well though, I'll get over it.
