Posted November 7, 200717 yr Well... we need a Mika thread ^_^ He's one of the biggest artists now and this is just a place to put all his news/Reviews and general chat about him :P ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mika blocks Boyzone cover Wednesday, November 7 2007, 09:59 GMT By Alex Fletcher - Digitalspy.com http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/a79372/m...zone-cover.html Mika has blocked Boyzone from recording his song 'I Gave It All Away'. The singer had originally planned to allow other acts to record the tune but decided the Irish boyband's version was "too cheesy" to be released. Ronan Keating revealed earlier this week that Boyzone will reform to play a medley of hits on Children In Need, and Mika's composition was going to be the band's comeback single. An industry source told The Sun: "Mika wrote the song and made it available for other artists. "Boyzone loved it. They thought it was perfect to launch their comeback so they recorded it and it sounded great - a certain number one." A friend of Mika commented: "He is keen to start writing for other pop artists as well as himself. But Boyzone isn’t really what he had in mind. "He was hoping to work with some more interesting artists - Boyzone are a bit too cheesy." A representative for the pop group said: "It’s a real shame because it’s an incredible song and we all loved it." Edited November 7, 200717 yr by Jonny

November 8, 200717 yr He'd rather work for credible artists like Westlife then: Mika to pen song for Westlife? Thursday, May 10, 2007 Will Mika pen a track for Westlife? Mika is apparently planning to pen Irish boy band Westlife a new track. The flamboyant Grace Kelly singer, whose debut album hit the No 1 spot, is also secretly working on a number of tracks for other artists, reports the Daily Star. A source said: "Mika had given pop a good kick-start again in the fun department and turned around many opinions that the scene had perhaps gone a little stale. "Westlife have been around for nine years now and want to freshen up their sound so Mika is exactly the man to do that." Westlife's most recent record The Love Album included several covers and the group have reportedly admitted they were desperate for new ideas. Band member Mark Feehily, 25, is quoted as saying: "Our preferred choice would've been to record a new studio album. Good pop doesn't fall out of trees. Not many writers are writing for pop now." Looks like Louis Walsh is running out of new ideas for stories. According to Ronan's latest entry on his website all that is planned is the Children In Need performance - although they have talked about a possible tour - there are no plans to record and his solo album is due out late summer next year.
November 8, 200717 yr Mika's next single is out on December 31st and is a double a-side of Lollipop/Relax Take It Easy Clever choice!

November 8, 200717 yr So Boyzone are too cheesy but Westlife aren't? I'm glad he didn't write a song for boyzone it's bad enough the skanks are coming back as it is.
November 8, 200717 yr Mika's next single is out on December 31st and is a double a-side of Lollipop/Relax Take It Easy Clever choice! Lollipop! I've gone right of Relax Take It Easy ever since it was played in Tesco's and one of the workers was 'singing' it.
November 8, 200717 yr Mika's next single is out on December 31st and is a double a-side of Lollipop/Relax Take It Easy Clever choice! Really? :o f***ing AMAZING. Excuse the language  The two songs which really needed releasing, released together and they're probably two of the best on the album too! :w00t:
November 8, 200717 yr I hope Lollipop gets a video. It'll be cheap and tacky :( But yeah, so do I! :w00t:
November 9, 200717 yr I'm very disappointed. I love Lollipop but I really don't think he should have released it as a single. It's way better as one of those "fan favourites" that always gets a good reception a concerts but was never released. He's caved in to pressure obviously. Relax, Take It Easy I can understand but it didn't need to be a double A side.
