A designer's front row often echoes the brand's prestige amongst the press and buying public. Seeing Hollywood's elite at a given fashion show resonates to the mere mortals that the brand in question must be cool. It would be fair to enquire whether or not those celebrities are paid to be there or are legitimate brand ambassadors, however Williamson has never had trouble finding support amongst his A-list fans. And not one to let us down, Matthew Williamson's front row was hot, hot, hot, including Rihanna, Brittany Murply, and Will Young sharing the rows with fashion's top journalists, including Anna Wintour and Susie Menkes.

Thanks BYM+M's.

We know Will is hot hot hot but it's lovely to see it acknowledged in print, especially as this event took place in the US.

Thanks BYM&M's for that.

No way do Matthew's 'fans' have to be paid to support him. Will especially - he was probably there like a shot :P and he makes such beautiful frocks - who wouldn't want to see his new collection.

Thanks BYM&Ms.

Meanwhile, Marti has some words of advice for X-Factor singers Leon Jackson and Leona Lewis - learn to sing like experienced professionals.

Marti said: "Good luck to Leon. He carries a tune but he is so young. I am lucky to have decades of experience. But the most important thing for a singer is his imagination and to be able to inhabit the lyric. He should be fearless and have the confidence to know where he will take the song and to own the song.

"Too many people don't own the song or command a strength about them when they sing.

"I heard Leona's song and it is nice pop music. She is a nice singer. I hope we can hear these singers 10 years down the line when they start developing their own identities and deciding the songs they want to do.

"Perhaps in time, they'll develop a style - good, bad or indifferent - like Will Young. It's not enough to carry a tune. We can all do that."Tommy added: "The fact that we are still here proves we are in it for the long haul. The success of people like X-Factor is instant and it feels like they haven't earned it.

"Leon hasn't had the knocks yet. By the time his third single comes around he'll know all about the music industry when backs are turned on him."

Thanks BYM&M's, don't you just love all these faded singers who used to be successful one time, think it's their god given right to state an opinion as fact and that only they know what it's all about?

As you say these faded stars are very much up their own arses. He's right though that so many artists & not just those from tv talent shows have no identity. It's just singing by numbers, delivering the same performance time after time.

Well - he's changed his tune a bit :P but how  that they have to feel they need to impart their advice after such 'illustrious' careers

Thank you Mr.Pellow and goodnight

Yeah, Goodnight Girl. quite liked that song actually. ;)

I see he's congratulating Darius on his career change. I very much doubt that Musical Theatre was what Darius had in mind when he entered PI  The predictions for the three boys were for Will to forge a career in MT and the other two to have recording careers. Oops :P

Oh I like WWW Suggy but I do wish these 'experts' would just shut the **** up.

Well done to Darius for landing the Rhett Butler role( MP is bound to praise his move into musical theatre ;) ) but I bet he would swap it without hesitation for a million selling album. Will went into acting because it's another of his passions not because of dwindling success in his pop career.

Pop Idol definitely opened doors for them but whether they cared to walk through them was another matter. I reckon Will got loads of offers for musicals at first - some of the kids from his time and subsequent shows have managed to find work in the theatre.

I'm sure you are right munchkin. Wonder if there was any truth in the wicked rumours. Still think he may take to the stage at some point if he still has his Broadway dream.

And I believe this is what's known as damning with faint praise
