Marcus I actually like you but for God sake LET IT GO.

Regardless of how much you slag off Leona or her album or her single or her personality or her reality TV background, she IS going to be #1, she IS going to have huge first week sales and no matter how much you moan it is not going to change it.

Some sad Physcho records/Leona/X Factor fans have decided to bash me based on the music I like.

Pathetic

Feeder care about their fans, this woman only cares about MONEY.

I asked you nicely to leave it, so leave it. Thanks :)

Marcus seriously no one is even bothering to reply to you anymore but you're still persisting and annoying everyone else in the process. As Matt said, for God sake just stop!
oh dear  wishful thinking for you i think mate...you seem to be deluding yourself though that this has a chance of happening

It does have a chance of happening...

Personally I love the album and have not been influenced by hype as I've never bought another reality TV star's album. I bought most of Girls Aloud's this year, and I think it's safe to say the hype had died down by then. Surely there are people within those 120k + who are like me and who will ALWAYS like Leona and this album despite the hype that is influencing "everyone else"?

Basically, this only has two ways of working out and I can see both  There ARE some undeluded fans of her MUSIC out there before you go out and generalise them all as sheep...

This is not a Feeder topic, please keep it on TOPIC.ffs
Ah yeah I know that, i'm just saying this whole "in a year she'll be gone" stuff is rubbish. :P

Whilst I don't think she will, I wouldn't say it's much more ridiculous than saying she'll be huge for ages and will break the US...

It does have a chance of happening...

it doesn't maybe 2 or 3 years you can say at the very least.....(even though us Leona fans know that wont happen :teresa: ) this album will be huge and have a hell of a lot more promo through next year plus she will have the US album promo to do and then touring etc so the only reason she will be gone in a year is if she decides to have a break/time out etc :P

I hope she does some up-tempo stuff on her next album.

Us Leona fans? I think you're forgetting what I just said in my post about loving the album ;)

Tbh, she could have this one big album... never make it big time in the US and come back with a poorly-received second album. That could EASILY happen. Anyone who thinks otherwise obviously doesn't know the music industry (or Simon Cowell) very well.

Not that I want to think about it, I want her to be MASSIVE.

Why, do you personally know her :o

If you lot think she won't be around in a years time, good for you, no need to keep going on, GOSH! but I sayyou will be eating your words ^_^

Yes. That happens all too often, unfortunetley.

Leona will have to prove herself once again with her next project. I think people are being premature when they're saying she'll crack the US, sell millions, be here for years & years, etc.

Once her second project comes along then we can see.

The industry is so tough though. One moment you can be multi-platinum and the next you aint even wood.

And don't bring Feeder into it to bash me, they're like celebrities in Wales.

Wtf!?

I do really like her, but sadly the album's really dull. :( Great potential, and some great songs in Bleeding Love, Angel, Take A Bow, Yesterday, but aside from those it's all just samey, mundane stuff. Still, she'll peak later on in her career, I'm sure. ^_^

She'll be around for a while, there's no question. I can't believe people are saying she won't be.

I remember when Arctic Monkeys were in a similar position to what Leona's in at the moment with loads of people saying they wouldn't last etc. but they have and they've shown that with their latest album. They've broken away from all "hype" stereotype that people have given them and have broken away into their own catergory now, and I think Leona will follow in the same manner.

Whatever her her debut album sales are when the era is complete, I don't think she'll match it with her 2nd album mind but I guess we'll just see. But the music industry is so tough now, you can be a hero one minute and then a zero the next.

Well no, it'll take a year to release all the singles :P Two years, maybe.

Well the reason I think it'd be a sad for music is the difference between how much of an ARTIST Leona is compared to Arctic Monkeys. Arctics were four ordinary lads from Sheffield who formed a band, wrote some brilliant songs and they got all their hype and the reason why so many people bought their album was because of the MUSIC which was all wrote by THEM. To me Leona is just another typical no personality with a decent voice product of the great BUSINESSMAN Simon Cowell, the album has three covers on it and in general she's basically contributed absoultely NOTHING apart from singing in her diet-Mariah Carey voice. The only way she'll last after this album is if she can gain control over what she does (like Will Young did) or instead be the product of someone who can write some great pop songs for her (like Girls Aloud did with Xenomania)

Notice a pattern here? Simon Cowell knows how to make a quick buck, dreary ballads and covers which have done thousands of times as people buy them. Notice something else? The reality TV stars who have survived (i.e. Girls Aloud, Will Young and Lemar) are the ones who escaped the clutches of Simon Cowell's repetitive strategy and Will and Lemar made a career out of what people in music should be, being ARTISTS! Girls Aloud however I can't knock as Xenomania just make them make good solid pop music which I personally don't think Leona is making right now.

I'm interested in what Leona can do afterwards because she COULD be decent but I think she's the type who needs to be told what to do personally. Also I am aware Arctics beat Hear'say before anyone says :P

This post isn't made to offend Leona fans or anything, I'm just trying to put my point across.

Well no, it'll take a year to release all the singles :P Two years, maybe.

thats what i meant and people say she will be nowhere in a years time -_- when if it did happen it will be 2-3 years minimum

ok, now i actually know what i am on about as i have listened to some clips.

there are one or two reasonable tracks. tbh only one makes me go wow and thats take a bow. the rest is bland and samey. Mutya's album is 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times better and has sold about what this did in a day. I am yet 2 see Real Girl in a charity shop, leona will be there within the month. Shes only sold so much coz of the 'hype' whcih by the way is very undeserved.

There are artists out their with more talent, who write their own stuff, and work their arses off to get noticed that just don't coz the brittish public have their heads 6feet inside simon cowels & lois walsh's arses. They are the worst thing to happen to pop music since geri left the spice girls in the late 90's

Will Leona be successful in other markets beside the UK?

So, without any real promo she has gained a lot of friends away from these shores, especially with Perez Hilton doing his bit.

I think the question should really be WHEN will she break the US and other markets, not if.
