Posted November 10, 200717 yr I thought this deserved it's own thread now that it's on his myspace. I was looking forward to seeing everyone else performing but Darius makes it perfect.
November 10, 200717 yr Monster on Dm says there are some tickets at £30, would love to go bet it will be great but it is a long way for me .
November 10, 200717 yr Author They are the ones I have. I know I have bars in front of me. I'm just hoping they don't get in the way when he's on. I may have gone up to £75 if I'd known Darius was going to do it but, those seats aren't great either.
November 13, 200717 yr Meg this is for you - a list of whose appearing although maybe you know already. Apart from Ruthie, Ute, Henry & Nigel, Roxies: Anita-Louise Combe, Jennifer Ellison, Josefina Gabrielle, Jill Halfpenny, Linzi Hateley, Bonnie Langford, Aoife Mulholland, Frances Ruffelle, Claire Sweeney and Denise Van Outen Velmas: Anna Jane Casey, Pia Douwes, Annette McLaughlin, Caroline O'Connor, Amra-Faye Wright and Leigh Zimmerman Billys: Darius Danesh, Tony Hadley, Duncan James, Ian Kelsey and Terence Maynard Amos: Paul Baker, Paul Rider and Paul Leonard Mamas: Brenda Edwards, Sue Kelvin, Kelly Osbourne and Gaby Roslin Comments: Roxie: A good list. I wish Chita, Frederike, Rebecca or even Brooke can make it! Velmas: I am really happy with the Velmas! Can't wait! Billys: What happened there?! No Kevin Richardson?! He's one of the best Billys I've seen AND he's a Celeb. Ok he's American, so equity problem, wtever... but NO CLARKE PETERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is just PATHETIC! I'm sorry! I'm really angry cuz the Billy list isn't great and Clarke is simply THE BEST Billy! Maybe even John Barrowman.... Amos: They don't have Clive Rowe or Barry James which is a HUGE shame cuz they're GREAT Amos BUT they DO have Paul Baker who is my fav. alongside with Clive so that's ok. Mamas: What happened there?!?!?!?! I actually thought they couldve gotten Anita Dobson back! I wish Zee, Donna H, Sharon Clarke will be there. They can't get us Lynda Carter (whom attended the Broadway celebration but she didn't do the Broadway production and she's not attending the London one!) but they have Kelly Osbourne! Woop d freakin do! I'm SO happy! If that Kelly girls sings a single note, I'm gona throw sth at her! Taken from WOS.
November 13, 200717 yr Author Thanks, Preston - I saw that but until a few days ago, Darius' name wasn't on it. He was one of the last ones added. I wish it had been earlier. Pam's taken my spare ticket, so she's coming now.
November 13, 200717 yr Hope y ou have a great time. I think I would be glad if jpohn barrowman wasnt there, he seems to be in your face and on everything at the moment promoting his album at no.10 in woolies but its a shame that a tenor called alfie boe who was discovered washing cars (no training)is at no.74. Heard him on steve wright and he is only 30 but he sang at the remembrance evening on tv but has not had the promotion that JB has heard but a much better voice and a lovely personality.
November 16, 200717 yr Alfie Boe had non-stop promotion from the presenters on Classic FM a good 18 months or more ago. He was singing in one of their major concerts and they hyped him up to get the public interested enough to buy tickets. It was pretty relentless again, when he later released his debut album. I'm glad Darius is taking part in the 10th anniversary show. I think he deserves his spot. He worked hard and did 121 shows without taking a day off. I regret that once again, fans have been unable to go because of a lack of forewarning.
November 16, 200717 yr Sorry Baytree I must have missed the previous promotion for alfie Boe. On listening to him on steve wright last week got the impression that this was his debut album. He seemed a lovely person, no airs but very natural . Hope he does well. Thanks for the information.
November 22, 200717 yr Less than two weeks to wait now, Meg and Pam. We're all waiting for a full report!
November 22, 200717 yr Author I just hope they let him sing. Three songs and six Billy's - it would be dreadful if they didn't
November 22, 200717 yr I just hope they let him sing. Three songs and six Billy's - it would be dreadful if they didn't Rachel heard from Darius earlier in the week and he didn't even know what he would be doing in the show!! (He didn't know anything about the after-show party either!!!) - so it makes you wonder! Whatever he is doing, there can't be an awful amount of rehearsal involved - I wonder if he is over here yet! :cheer: Julie
November 22, 200717 yr Author There's a surprise. How many times have we told him what he's doing? I just hope it works out Ok. I am glad he's involved. I checked the dress code and it's definately black tie - even in the cheapest seats. I hope it's not raining. Full length dresses and rain don't mix and taxis are really difficult to get from the Cambridge.
November 22, 200717 yr Wendy and I hope to be there - we've left it late! I hope I can get tickets tomorrow!! I definitely won't be wearing a long dress - I don't think Wendy will be either. We will have to keep our fingers (and toes) crossed for dry weather - I don't fancy standing outside the stage door looking like a 'cold, drowned rat'!!! Julie P.S. Is Julian Kitchener-Fellowes and his wife the couple Darius came back to England for to sing at their wedding - because I notice they are patrons of the charity and have a lot to do with the occasion? Edited November 22, 200717 yr by Julia W
November 23, 200717 yr Author I dropped in to The Cambridge - they said it was definately long formal, most black tie tend to be. It is a bit of a pain in bad weather though.
November 23, 200717 yr I dropped in to The Cambridge - they said it was definately long formal, most black tie tend to be. It is a bit of a pain in bad weather though. I'm sure a lot of ladies will be wearing long dresses, but I won't be one of them!! The only long dress I possess is like a 'nightie' and I don't think it would be very appropriate!! I couldn't wear a long dress up to London on the train at lunchtime either, I would feel such a fool!! 'Black tie' to me just means that the men wear their dinner suits with a dickie tie and the ladies 'glam-up' - if I'm the only one wearing a short skirt at least I will stand-out, won't I!!! even if for all the wrong reasons!!! I booked our tickets this morning - we couldn't get the stalls as we would have liked (left it too late!!) so the next best was middle Row G in the Dress Circle - looking forward to seeing you and Pam there  Julie
November 23, 200717 yr In answer to Julies question - .S. Is Julian Kitchener-Fellowes and his wife the couple Darius came back to England for to sing at their wedding - because I notice they are patrons of the charity and have a lot to do with the occasion No I think that was the JCB heir Joe bamford. I notice his brother is getting married soon, wonder if D will get to sing again.
