Posted November 10, 200717 yr Jackson 'ignores negative press' BBC http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/44226000/jpg/_44226736_jackson_203lap.jpg Michael Jackson released his Thriller album in 1982 Pop star Michael Jackson has said he pays no attention to the negative press written about him. In a rare interview, the star told Ebony magazine that he knows he has the reputation of being different, but just ignores it. "In my opinion, it's ignorance. It's usually not based on fact. Every neighbourhood has the guy who you don't see, so you gossip about him," he said. The singer gave the interview to mark 25 years since the release of Thriller. Jackson said he has not changed much since releasing the blockbuster album in 1982. Record-breaking "That Michael is probably the same Michael here. I just wanted to get certain things accomplished first," he said. "But I always had this tug in the back of my head, the things I wanted to do, to raise children, have children. I'm enjoying it very much." The 14-minute Thriller video featured dancing zombies Despite selling 750 million albums worldwide, Jackson said that his success "came with a lot of pain". "When you're on top of your game, when you're a pioneer, people come at you. But I feel grateful - all those record-breaking things, to the biggest albums, to those number ones - I still feel grateful," he said. The 49-year-old singer also added that he had no plans to keep entertaining when he is 80. He said: "Not the way James Brown or Jackie Wilson did, where they just killed themselves. I wish James Brown could have slowed down and been more relaxed and enjoyed his hard work." Ebony reported the singer is working with Kanye West and Will.I.Am on a comeback album to be released sometime in 2008. The magazine goes on sale on 12 November.
November 13, 200717 yr so negative press is 'based on ignorance' but good press is based on truth?... yeah believe what you want to <_<
November 13, 200717 yr Author so negative press is 'based on ignorance' but good press is based on truth?... yeah believe what you want to <_< Did he say good press is based on truth? No. It is a fact that 90% of the negetive press Jacko gets is completelly and utterly made up to make him look like the biggest freak on the face of the planet. I am not talking about the trial etc, I am talking about in general. It is staggering the level of complete and utter bull$h!t that is fed to the public about Jacko in the craploids. It would take an extremly ignorannt person to believe half of it clearly. It is actually quite rare top celebs get good press anyway, and on the rare occasion they do it is usually the truth, but most of the time the papers just slag them off by making up the most ridiculous things imaginable. It's these so called 'journalists' jobs at the end of the day.
November 14, 200717 yr All artists will recieve bad publicity at some point but Michael had his fair share already so it would be nice to read some positive things about him for once. Let him live the life he chooses, we all do that ^_^
November 14, 200717 yr . Let him live the life he chooses, we all do that ^_^ ...like shareing a bed with little boys?...

November 14, 200717 yr ...like shareing a bed with little boys?... Innocent until proven guilty, at least that's how the system works in my country. Like me, you don't know what happened exactly so let's not jump to conclusions. I'm not saying Michael is like the average person and maybe some of things he's doing look weird. Most of the time it seems to me he's a child himself although he's officially middle aged. Must be the pretty awkard childhood he had, I don't know. All I'm saying is let the guy live his life and if he's doing something against the law, punish him. What botters me is the fact that alot of people are just after his money so I wouldn't be surprised if the lawsuit against him was for that reason aswell.

He's not my hero :o I have that Robbie Williams guy for that  And excuse me for misunderstanding your post but I did thought you were suggesting that he had anything sexual with them aswell. When my little cousin or niece are staying over at my place they wanna sleep in my bed aswell. Now maybe a woman of my age shouldn't allow that but I can assure you incest is not in order. Ofcourse I know what you mean and it wasn't the most clever thing to do for Michael but I seriously believe he didn't even think about the concequences. Edited November 14, 200717 yr by *Nicky*
November 14, 200717 yr Author ...like shareing a bed with little boys?... Will you ever just change the record Mushy. Your clear obsession with Jacko and the whole trial is unhealthy. You forever go on about it at every given opportunity. This is a forum for his fans, not for people who clearly have a hatred for the man and forever give the very same opinion you've been giving in various thread, endless times since he was charged. Everyone knows you think there is a stronger chance he is a p**** than he is innocent, what on earth is coming into a forum of someone you dislike so much to make pointless remarks going to achive other than annoy his fans? Was it ever proven he actually slept in the same bed? Certainly not. He only ever said he slept on the ground in a sleeping bag, even the Bashir's doc, that's what was said. As you said in your other post 'believe what you want', it certainly appears you are. the papers dont have to make anything up.... the facts reveal this guy as a creepy loony. Of course the papers don't have to make up anything, but the fact is the vast majority of things written about Jacko in general are most certainly made up. Everyone knows Michael is weird, I doubt many will deny that, but being a global star since the age of six, is hardly going to make anyone turn out normal, especially someone like Jacko, who was abused as a child, and never had a childhood. He still seems to think he is a child half the time, and is not your average person. His behavior clearly is not normal or acceptable but that certainly does not mean he is automatically this monster who abuses children. There were just such an ridiculous amounts of flaws and contradictions in the court case in 2005 for me to be convinced he did it. He was seen as being not guilty because the evidence simply was nowhere near strong enough to state otherwise. I am not going to get into yet another argument about whether the man is guilty or not, it is just SO tiresom at this stage,. No amount of arguments about the subject is going to change it. Whether you believe he is this calculating monster who sexually abuses kids, or some misunderstood person who just loves kids, and sees himself as one, or whether you are not sure which he is and don't particually care at this stage. If you, like me, followed the case throughout, it was obvious from the moment the mother, the young boy Gavin, and his brother were tried, that there was little chance of Jacko going down for it, as their testomony was more like a performance than anything else, especially the mother. As it goes 'Innocent until proven guilty', and Jacko most certainly was not proven to be guilty, not even close. And before you say I am some bias fan, I really am not. I am a big fan of MJ's music, but I am not like the many many obsessive fans he seems to have, who wont even admit the man is weird. I a merly a fan of his music, and his amazing live performances, not particularly of him as a person. I certainly would'nt bet my life that he never sexually abused a child, but I just feel there are far too many people who look at the situation in a very narrow-minded way, that he admitted to sleeping in the same room as young boys, was charged with sexual abuse, put 2 and 2 together, and come to some definitive conclusion and see that conclusion as some fact, without looking at the situation in the bigger picture.
November 15, 200717 yr well what you say is pretty much ok by me.. but what i dont like is the way the blokes treated because some people like his music... you or i couldnt act in the way he did and get away with it (im talking about the things that are not in dispute), other 'stars' have been ruined by similar allegations so why not jacko?... i dunno, true he has not been convicted, but like oj simpson most believe its because of his fame and a 'nobody' would have been banged up long since. the thing is.... these allegations have followed him around now for 25 odd years.. IF he was found guilty, would the fans accept it? gary glitters did and hes 'dead' career wise, johnathon king will never work again, ... meanwhile most of us who are indifferent to his music suspect that he got away with it.

I completely agree with Scotty. Its true and sad that many of his fans really do worship him to the high heavens. I think Michael Jackson is a complete musical GENUIS. Doesnt mean i dont think he is a weird, messed up person. I can admit that, unlike some of his fans. Nothing has ever been proven, and the whole thing will go around in circles forever tbh. Everyone has different opinions on what happened. But as Scotty said, this forum is for Fans. So if all you have come in here for is to sprout nothing but negative comments, i suggest you dont come into the forum.

November 15, 200717 yr But as Scotty said, this forum is for Fans. So if all you have come in here for is to sprout nothing but negative comments, i suggest you dont come into the forum. its no so much negative comment so much as realistic comments, its rather odd being 'told off' by young michael jackson fans who werent born for most of his musical career! ... i on the other hand is probably the most qualified person on this site to talk about him! having been there from his very first totp appearance. ... but.. you are right, this forum is for 'fans', im just worried that so many rate him so highly, he IS overrated for reasons ive already explained in another thread,.
