I know JESC is considered somewhat of a joke  by many, but looking at the contest this year- what do you think?

Here are my opinions:

I believe there will be another eastern Europe domination. Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, and Sweden are going to have to bond together if there is any chance for any of them to be victorious. My number one pick in the contest is Georgia, I like their song the best. I get the feeling Portugal will recieve the least points. I think that Russia, again, will be victorious, they have a decent song and they have enough political voting to put them ahead of the rest.

Whilst the JESC is a waste of time imo, it has shown that people don't simply hate the United Kingdom. I mean 3rd in 2003 and 2nd in 2004? That's pretty good going.
Well if that's the case, then it proves that the view some people have of "the UK not doing well because people hate us" as completely wrong.
I still think they hate the UK, they just liked those songs

If this were true this would automatically demolish the argument that we will never be able to do well again just because Europe doesn't like us! :P

I get the feeling Portugal will recieve the least points.

Probably yes, since Spain has dropped and if Portugal couldn't do much last year with a much better song, this year it can be pretty much doomed.

Of those I've heard my faves are Sweden and Belgium. Russia for me it's the worst, it's almost the same song as last year.

it's almost the same song as last year.

I am soooo tempted to say something about this and several Eastern European countries, but I'll refrain from doing so.
