November 11, 200717 yr :o I wasn't expecting that but let's not forget that the album isn't being promoted so it's a very good position with the release of future singles it'll climb some positions again ;) GO BRITNEY! =)
November 11, 200717 yr Well it's not a huge surprise really. 'Britney' fell from 4 to 20 in the second week. 'In the Zone' fell from 14 to 37. Could be worse. It is a shame though. Oh well hopefully some more hit singles will maintain album sales.
November 11, 200717 yr on the other hand, Gimme More slips only one spot from #7 to #8 this week ^_^ Edited November 11, 200717 yr by Boyan
November 11, 200717 yr Well to get a #2 album when you don't promote speaks for itself and remember, the only way is down ;)
November 11, 200717 yr We need to stop making the no promotion excuse, if this album fails she has no one to blame but herself, it should have been released when she is in a right state of mind, her divorce thing is over and when she can be bothered to promote it.
November 11, 200717 yr Author Yeah, the no promotion thing is a load of poppycock really. Is there honestly anyone out there who isn't aware that Britney has made a comeback and has a new album out?
November 11, 200717 yr Promo is needed and it isn't an excuse. If Britney performed on a few shows in UK, her sales would be better. If she performed on X Factor, would that not help? Of course it would. I don't mean VMA style performance, i mean the old Britney performances. Album shouldn't have been released until she could perform again. Tbh i'm not shocked at it falling to 13. She never had great album chart success. It will go down until next single is released
November 12, 200717 yr I think it's ok to be honest. It is at the peak position of her last studio album so I think it is doing fairly well when looking at her past album chart runs. I think now it will even out and fall 3-5 positions each week until the next single becomes noticed.
November 12, 200717 yr I hope you're right Tyler. ;) I do agree though. It really isn't such a bad fall... a bit expected really.
November 12, 200717 yr It sold 17,000 copies at No.13, taking its total sales to 60,000. On the other hand, "Gimme More" also sells around 17,000 copies this week at No.8 (falling 1 place from last week's No.7) taking its cumulative sales to 90,000.
November 12, 200717 yr I think it was always destined to not live up to expectations. Until others who aren't hardcore fans are impressed by a performance or her getting it together, it will no doubt keep on tumbling down the charts.
November 18, 200717 yr Author I think it's ok to be honest. It is at the peak position of her last studio album so I think it is doing fairly well when looking at her past album chart runs. I think now it will even out and fall 3-5 positions each week until the next single becomes noticed. Looks like that hasn't happened... 2-13-36. :o
November 18, 200717 yr Whoopsy! Somebody notice Piece of Me immediately or we're gonna have to arrnage a funeral for this album! :( Isn't she gonna be touring next year? I'm sure i read somewhere that she was gonna tour? Sheneeds to release the next single by mid - January which is far more euro-friendly in my opinion so i think it'll do better!
November 18, 200717 yr Well there were like 14 NE as well, but I wish it was doing better. It is still performing better then "In The Zone" soooo.... EDIT: This is actually her third best performing studio album, chart wise. Britney debuted at #4 then fell to #20 then fell to #36 In The Zone debuted at #14 then fell to #37 then fell to #57 Britney went on to sale over 400k and ITZ went on to sales 500k so don't worry just yet guys. November 18, 200717 yr I think we have to wait until the era is over to make conclusions (you know, the typical "it flopped" comments).
