Posted May 14, 200619 yr Babysitter Jill (Belle) is terrorised in an isolated house by calls from a menacing stranger. When the police trace the line, it turns out that the homicidal maniac is very close by indeed. The frightened teenager has to put up a fight to survive the night and protect the children she’s watching over. Just been to see this. Pretty average horror really, it's quite scary and suspenseful until the killer actually appears and then it all gets a bit stupid - couldn't help laughing out loud at some bits, especially when she fell out of an ornamental tree and how she manages to introduce herself to the children while being chased by a lunatic - "Hi, I'm Jill the babysitter - NOW RUN!!" Anyone else seen this? It's not bad and pretty light entertainment.
May 15, 200619 yr It really wasn't as dire as I'd feared it would be, but yeah, the bits you mentioned were pretty bloody dopey it has to be said. The problem with this film is that the trailer just totally gives away the "twist" (ie, that the killer is already in the house making the calls), now, for people who'd never seen the original, the whole point of seeing it is kinda rendered null and void by that trailer... But obviously, it's nowhere near as suspenseful as the original. By the way, did you ever see a little-known 1971 Canadian horror with a similar theme called "Black Christmas" which came out about two or three years before the original of this.... (starring a young Margot Kidder no less...)? It was set in a Sorority House and had pretty much exactly the same twist in the plot....

I love the whole babysitter/stalker cliché - it's the best one in the book!
May 15, 200619 yr It aint babysitters, it's sorority girls, but the structure of the plot is near as dammit the same...

May 16, 200619 yr on imdb large amount of posts about camilla's arm hair. is it very visible? That's pretty feeble, she's a young girl ffs... <_< I actually found her arm hair quite cute, says to me that she's not some vain, spoiled Hollywood brat....yet anyway.... But if enough people bitch on about it it's probably gonna send the poor girl off to the bloody plastic surgeons to get electrolysis or something....
May 16, 200619 yr But if enough people bitch on about it it's probably gonna send the poor girl off to the bloody plastic surgeons to get electrolysis or something.... was a few people arguing on that site saying she will probably end up as one of those identikit blonde orange skin starlets
