What a load of Americanised AOR/MOR Q-readership bull$h!t that list is... The Smiths at 96?  Please...

And Hounds of Love...? Where is it?

Great to see Pink Moon in the top 50 - but what a laughable list the rest of that top 100 is. I imagine to creators of it to be stroking their white beards in agreement over what is, quite frankly, a pretty ludicrous top 100 - I can't even bear to look at the other 200.

To be honest, any list that, straight-faced, includes more than one Bob Dylan album is a joke, really. THE most over-rated musician in the world - ever. A voice akin to rubbing your pen*s on sandpaper and songwriting skills that sound far more at home round a hippy campfire. YEUCH.

Were the writers aware that this world also comprises women?

Good point... apart from the rightful inclusion of Janis Joplin and Joni Mitchell - there are no females in the list whatsoever.

Bizarre.

I'm glad Russ posted that because that's pretty much exactly what I was thinking as my eyes were glazing over that list... there's not one album on there I think I'm actually interested in hearing, it's all the same AOR boring rubbish.
Ah yea.. I missed that one.... I suppose she is kinda female... ish

there are some truly incredible albums on the list, don't get me wrong, and some on there that people reallyt should have a listen to - but it's clogged up with an over-reliance on stodge like Dylan, Springsteen and err... Jethro Tull

i guess that it is a sexist thing and something to do with the mentality that pop is for girls and therefore insignificant and rock is for blokes and therefore cool mentality. i guess if you servayed all reviewers, then the results wil turn out that like 90% of all reviewers are male. then again maybe blokes like lists more

  • 2 weeks later...
