Posted November 12, 200717 yr it sold 9.817 to debut at number 12,,below is what music week has to say Lewis’ sales are probably high enough for her to hold off Kylie Minogue’s 2 Hearts this week, even though EMI allowed shops to sell the CD releases of 2 Hearts from Sunday instead of Monday – a strategy it is repeating next week with The Spice Girls’ Headlines (Friendship Never Ends). The ballyhoo surrounding the later track, and its status as Children In Need’s official 2007 single, should provide Lewis with a stern challenge a fortnight hence, however. Fit again Minogue resumes her chart career after an absence of more than two years, debuting at number 12 on sales of 9,817 downloads of 2 Hearts. The introductory single from Minogue’s upcoming album X was written by London band Kish Mauve, whose own two singles, Lover (2005) and Modern Love (2006), both fell far short of the chart. It increases 39 year old Minogue’s haul of Top 75 hits to 42, of which 39 have reached the Top 40, and 29 have made the Top 10.
November 13, 200717 yr Author so far this week kylie has sold over 11,000 copies so hopefully she can do at least 50,000 this week so she could have well hit 60,000 with downloads this week ad last plus phyisicals this week by sunday which is quite good, im hoping the single will easily sell 150,00 at worst overall
November 13, 200717 yr I think thats being rather optimistic. Slow sold 14k on the first day and only sold 42k in total. Saying that, downloads werent included them. I reckon 2 hearts will sell about 30-35k by the end of the week but will drop next week and overall wont sell much more than 100k.
November 13, 200717 yr Just to clarify. Slow managed 42k during its first week of sales..total amount sold was around 100k.
November 13, 200717 yr Terrible overall sales for Slow :( Deserved so much more! I predict 32k for 2 Hearts this week, bringing the total to 42k, and about 90k by the end of things.
November 14, 200717 yr 'Slow' sold more like 75 - 85k ish, I'm not sure on an exact figure but I know it's less than 100k as none of the Body Language singles topped 100k. I think it's safe to say '2 Hearts' should beat it saleswise.
November 14, 200717 yr Author i think 2 hearts will sell over 100,000, downloads help that alot, i can see 2 hearts being on the top 75 for about 15 weeks as downloads help songs wait on the chart longer and sell slowly for ages, 2 hearts should sell at least 40,000 this week and add the almost 10,000 from last that could be 50,000 already
