Apologize by Timbaland will go down in history to be the very track to do so and it comes in at No.10 this week. Timbaland also holds the fort for another week at No.1 with The Way I Are. The Veronicas move up a spot to No.4 with Hook Me Up. Meanwhile, Santana jumps two places to position Into The Night at No.6 and Kanye West’s Stronger remains stationed at No.9 for another week. APOLOGIZE - Timbaland Feat. OneRepublic No.10 Hip-hop juggernaut, Timbaland is setting the ARIA Singles Chart alight this week with the release of the fourth track off his current album, Timbaland Presents: Shock Value (No.10 Oct. ’07). Timbaland has a total of four tracks in the singles chart at the moment, including this week’s debut, Apologize which features Colorado rock band OneRepublic. The other singles are - The Way I Are which is at No.1, Give It To Me at No.49 and Throw It On Me at No.97 SNAKESKIN - Gyroscope No.30 Forming in 1997 in Perth, Gyroscope consists of Daniel Sanders, Brad Campbell, Zoran Trivic and Rob Nassif. The band made their ARIA Singles chart debut in 2004 with the release of Safe Forever. The single peaked at No.65 in March that year. The next single from the band was Fast Girl / Beware Wolf and that peaked at No.43 in March 2006. Gyroscope has toured with Dashboard Confessional and Blink 182 and has graced the stages of Big Day Out and Homebake. Snakeskin is Gyroscope’s highest charting single to date. NO ONE - Alicia Keys No.37 After a four year hiatus to pursue side projects, twenty-seven year old Alicia Keys graces our charts once more. The multi-talented Keys made her first mark on the ARIA Singles Chart with the single, Fallin’ (No.7 Nov. ’01), which was followed up by three more Top 40 singles – A Woman’s Worth (No.16 Apr. ’02), How Come You Don’t Call Me (#29 July ’02) and Girlfriend (No.13 Feb. ’03). No One is the first track to be lifted from Keys’ forthcoming album, As I Am. GET WHAT YOU WANT - Operator Please No.40 Just when you thought it was Just A Song About Ping Pong (No.12 Aug. ’07), now you can Get What You Want, literally – as Operator Please release their second single. Taking out the Best Breakthrough Artist for a single at this year’s ARIA Awards, Operator Please band members Amandah Wilkinson, Tim Commandeur, Sarah Gardiner, Ashley McConnell and Taylor Henderson also got to grace the stage that night performing their winning track, Just A Song About Ping Pong. SOFT NOVEMBER - Angelas Dish No.51 Central Coast rockers, Angelas Dish make their second appearance on the ARIA Singles Chart this week. Their first appearance came courtesy of My Body Is An Ashtray, which peaked at No.94 in July 2006. Angelas Dish have been touring constantly for the past three years and have played alongside fellow Aussie rockers – Kisschasy, Something With Numbers, The Butterfly Effect and this week’s No.30 place holders, Gyroscope. BULLET AND A TARGET - Bliss N Eso Feat. Connections Zulu Choir No.52 ARIA Award nominees, Bliss N Eso have been friends since high school and both have a common love for anything and everything hip-hop! The trio which comprises of MC Bliss, MC Eso and DJ Izm embarked on an extraordinary trip to South Africa earlier this year, with MTV filming their journey for the Schools 4 Schools project. The project links schools in Australia with schools in South Africa. While on the trip Bliss N Eso was so inspired to make a track – and Bullet And A Target was the outcome. 100% of the profits made of the sale of the single will go to the Schools 4 Schools Project. SORRY - Small Mercies No.54 Hailing from Brisbane, Small Mercies formed in 2000. The band consists of Marty O’Brien - drums, Steve Blaik – vocals, Simon O’Connor – guitar, Danny Procopis – guitar and Shaun Spooner - bass. Small Mercies made their ARIA Single Chart debut earlier this year with Innocent, which peaked at No. 38. Blaik and Procopis cite Steve Tyler of Aerosmith, Bono of U2 and Adam Duritz of Counting Crows as inspirations for their song writing. OPEN YOUR EYES - Snow Patrol No.59 Five piece alt-rock band Snow Patrol have two debuts this week, first up is Open Your Eyes and at No.80 is Chasing Cars. Both singles are lifted from Snow Patrol’s former No.1, quadruple platinum album Eyes Open. Snow Patrol was recently on our shores for a national sold out tour. The band is set to go on hiatus after touring for the past few years, but lead singer Gary Lightbody will be releasing a solo album in the interim. REHAB - Amy Winehouse No.60 After fourteen weeks in the ARIA Digital Track Chart, Amy Winehouse graces the ARIA Singles Chart for the first time because of the new chart rules that have been implemented as of this week. Winehouse has been making waves all over the world with the release of her ground breaking album, Back To Black (No.14 Sep. ’07) which Rehab is lifted from. THIS HEART ATTACK - Faker No.66 Sydney based band Faker formed in 1996, but made their break for the ARIA Singles Chart in May 2005 with The Familiar / Enough, which peaked at No.62. This was shortly followed by Hurricane which peaked at No.65 in October that year. Faker consists of Nathan Hudson, Paul Berryman, Stefan Gregory and Nicholas Munnings and they have played major festivals – Big Day Out and Falls Festival, as well as opening for The Grates on their 2006 tour. 1234 - Feist No.67 Canadian singer – song writer Leslie Feist usually goes by just her surname. Making her debut this week to the ARIA Single Chart, Feist comes from a creative background, her father was a painter, her mother specialized in ceramics and her brother is a software engineer. The track 1234 is featured in the Ipod Nano commercials, giving Feist a boost to her popularity. CHAMPAGNE TASTE - CC Martini No.68 CC Martini aka Caitlin Whitty is an Australian singer – song writer and also makes her debut this week to the ARIA Singles Chart. Martini was discovered at an Australian record label’s Christmas party three years ago. The label decided to sign her up but Martini took another offer that was given to her and the result for fans is Champagne Taste. YOU CAN'T STOP THE BEAT Nikki Blonsky, Queen Latifah & Zac Effron No.69 Lifted from the top selling soundtrack, Hairspray, You Can’t Stop The Beat is sung by the movie’s stars. The 2007 movie is adapted from the John Waters’ 1988 film that starred Ricki Lake, Sonny Bono and Debbie Harry. The current Hairspray Soundtrack peaked at No.5 earlier this year. HATE THAT I LOVE YOU - Rihanna Feat. Ne-Yo No.71 Caribbean princess Rihanna teams-up with R&B heartthrob Ne-Yo for her new single. This track is the third to be lifted from Rihanna’s current album, Good Girl Gone Bad (No.5 June ’07). Hate That I Love You follows, Umbrella – which spent six consecutive weeks at No.1 earlier this year and has been certified platinum and her current hit, Shut Up And Drive (No.4 Sep. ’07). CHASING CARS - Snow Patrol No.80 This track had no physical release here in Australia but Chasing Cars sent fans in a flurry. Chasing Cars dominated the ARIA Digital track Chart for weeks and now gets its first glimpse of the ARIA Single Chart this week. HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, STRONGER (ALIVE 2007) - Daft Punk No.82 Electronic music pioneers get a second chance at hitting the ARIA Top 100 Singles Chart with an updated version of their 2001 release of the same title. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger failed to make an impact upon its original release, but with electronic music dominating the airwaves of late, as well as Kanye West’s use of the track, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger sees inside the Top 100 this time round. FABULOUS - The Cast Of High School Musical No.91 Lifted from The High School Musical 2 Soundrack, Fabulous follows the footsteps of What Time Is It? which peaked at No.20 in September this year. The movie has been released in over twenty different countries and has broken viewer records across the USA. The movie stars Zac Effron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale.
