Singles

After seven weeks bubbling inside the Top 5, The Veronicas take out the top spot. Hook Me Up knocks off The Way I Are leaving Timbaland at No.2 this week. Hey There Delilah moves up two places, to take out the last podium spot, giving Plain White T’s the bronze. Sean Kingston’s Beautiful Girls tumbles down two places and settles for No.4, meanwhile positions 6, 7, and 8 all remain glued to their spots for another week. Timbaland and Kanye West trade places – Apologize is at No.9 and Stronger sits at No.10 for this week.

FUNKY TONIGHT (LIVE 2007 ARIAS) - The John Butler Trio & Keith Urban No.11

Two of the biggest names in Australia’s music business – The John Butler Trio and Keith Urban, came together for Australia’s biggest night of nights – The ARIA Awards. Together they brought the house down and were voted the hottest performance on the night by the public.

HAPPY ENDING - Mika

No.32

This is the third offering from 24 year old Mika. Happy Ending follows Grace Kelly (No.2 Apr. ’07) and Love Today (No.3 Aug ’07). All three singles have been lifted from Mika’s debut album Life In Cartoon Motion, which peaked at No.5 on the ARIA Albums Chart in August this year and is still in the Top 40 this week after thirty-four weeks.

KISS KISS - Chris Brown No.52

Dominating the US charts for the second week is Chris Brown’s new single Kiss Kiss. Brown enjoyed worldwide success with his debut single Run It! Power Of Love was Dion’s first No.1 single, hitting the top spot in April 1994. This was followed by two more – Because You Loved Me (Aug. ’96) and who can forget, My Heart Will Go On (Feb. ’98).

Best known for her work as the head Pussycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger has gone out on a limb for her debut solo release. Featuring Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.Am, Baby Love peaked at No.14 on the UK chart recently and hopefully will be a Top 40 hit for Scherzinger on our shores. Prior to her Pussycat Dolls role, Scherzinger won a spot in Eden’s Crush, an all girl pop group founded by America’s series of Popstars. Eden’s Crush released Get Over Yourself, but the single failed to make an impact within ARIA Top 100.

This is the follow-up to the successful The Swing Sessions which peaked at No.7 in November, 2006. This album was born out of Campbell’s recent Swing Sessions Tour, where he found that the band and himself were continually adding classics to the set list – songs that had the audience singing along to every word.
