Posted November 14, 200717 yr Her latest entry :D 12/11/2007 - My album’s in the shops now! Wow! Hey everyone, Sorry its been a bit of time since I blogged last - things have been so very crazy in world Leona!! Things are even crazier now as my FIRST album is in shops TODAY!!!! WOW!!! Would love to know what all you guys think so get on my forum and let me know as I read it as much as I can!!! I have so many favourites on there and every song represents a different part of me and each track is so special in some way. I haven’t been out to see it in a shop yet but I have to go and do that later!! Firstly I want to say the biggest thank you to everyone for all your support with my new single ‘Bleeding Love’ - 3 weeks at number 1! It’s beyond my wildest dreams and I couldn’t have done it without all your support. Thank you!! I found out I was number 1 while I was at London Studios recording the Divas show! I had a cake, party poppers and all my family was there so it was brilliant! I loved the Divas show and was so excited to be sharing the stage with idols of mine like Celine Dion & Alicia Keys. I met Celine Dion at the show which was SO exciting - I got a bit starstruck and couldn’t say much! She is so beautiful and talented! I can’t wait to hear the new album. I’m so pleased i got to see her when she performed in Vegas a few months ago as its coming up to her last show now! Last Thursday i performed at the Harpers Bazaar Party in London which was fantastic. It was a great crowd of people and when I performed ‘Bleeding Love’ they all sang along which was incredible, it was the first time I’d heard anyone sing the song back to me! The party was themed black & gold so i got to wear a brilliant Alberta Feritti black dress to party in and for my performance i went for a bright Pink Cavalli gown which was so fun to wear! Thanks Cavalli! On Wednesday I got to perform at the Oxford Street Christmas lights switch on. SO many people came along and they even had to shut the street down! I sang ‘Bleeding Love’ and then got to actually switch the switch for the lights! - there was lots of fireworks that went off and all the beautiful lights on the street came alight - it was incredible! I then had to jet straight across to Leicester Square for the premiere of ‘Enchanted’ the new Disney movie. Disney so very kindly presented me with an animation that they designed of me - its so beautiful and I’m very honoured to have had a Disney princess made of me!! It must be every girls dream! You can see it below! I also won my first award this week Cosmo Fun Fearless Female Awards presented me with ‘Best Newcomer’ - I was overwhelmed as the awards recognise amazing women doing brilliant things in their life, it was so inspiring being around them. Brian Freidman presented me with my Award and also Perez Hilton did a video message that really made me laugh! He’s been so amazingly supportive! Thanks Perez! Love your puppy!!! Sooo cute! Congratulations to all the other winners and big thanks to Cosmo!! I went to Ireland on Friday to perform on The Late Late Show which was great fun - I love Ireland it’s such a fun place. Everyone is so friendly, especially the cab driver who picked me up from the gym! Hope your injury is better!!! Ha ha! Also hello to everyone that came to the Birmingham lights on Saturday to see me perform!!! Thanks so much! His website gets quite a lot of hits from the USA, so if it gains awareness for her, so be it. I'd say the same for the rumoured Sean Kingston thing, but I just can't. :puke2:
December 19, 200717 yr Here's her latest blog: 18/12/2007 - I’m in the Guiness Book of Records! Hi Guys Sorry it’s been a while since I updated you all. I just want to say again the biggest thankyou to everyone for all your support , I hope you are enjoying the music! To celebrate the success of the album, I was given a surprise presentation disc at my record company along with some beautiful flowers and a gorgeous Stella bag (Thank you again!!) It was really nice to meet everyone who works at the label, and also Simon was there so we got to catch up. I was also given a certificate from the Guiness Book of Records, for Bleeding Love being 2007’s biggest single, which was so exciting! I’ve just got back from New York where I’ve been really busy getting ready preparing to release the album in the USA the New Year. I had lots of fun and did a bit too much shopping too - ooops! It snowed whilst I was there which was so beautiful. Not long now until Christmas everyone! Its one of my favourite times of year and I cant wait to watch Christmas movies, eat lots and be with my family! Ok, I’ll pop back in soon but keep checking back until then. January 22, 200817 yr New blog: Jan 16 2008 - Hey everyone Hey everyone, Firstly Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. My year really has started with the most incredible news. I can’t believe I’m nominated for four Brit Awards! It’s beyond my wildest dreams! I went to the Brits school and while I was there we were taken to the Awards once to be in the audience - I remember it was the year Five performed. I’ll always have that memory! I can’t wait for February 20th - it’ll be such an exciting night. I’m writing this from backstage at a TV show called ‘Benissimo’ in Switzerland. For the last few days I’ve been in Europe, I’ve had such a great time and everyone has been so welcoming to me. My first stop was Munich where I spent a day doing lots of press and radio interviews, I also got a chance to visit the Viva studios where I did their live show. I had to have a translator in my ear as the host asked the questions in German which was a bit daunting! We then flew to Berlin where there were just a few more interviews! It was so much fun spending time with new people and learning about these new places. I’ve only been to Germany once before when I was young - we drove from the UK on our way to Poland (we listened to the Whitney album the whole journey!) Thank you so much to everyone I met whilst I was in Europe - it was such an amazing trip and I hope to be back very soon! I can’t wait to go to France next - I’m traveling to Paris and then to Cannes - I’ll update you on how it all goes! I’m going to try and run around and do some sightseeing - Eiffel Tower, Arc De Triomphe! I can’t wait! I’m now about to go on stage and perform ‘Bleeding Love’ for the first time on European TV, I’m really nervous! 10 minutes to go! Better Go! I love movies and always have! Whether it’s going to the cinema or snuggling up in front of a DVD - its my favourite way to chill out! February 11, 200817 yr Feb 11 2008 - Grammy Party! Hey All, I’m writing this update for you from my hotel room in LA. I’ve been over here to perform at Clive Davis’ legendary pre-Grammy party. I had rehearsals on Thursday which were so much fun - I had a full live band playing with me for this show (the MD is Rickey Minor who is truly incredible!) It feels so good to be performing live and being able to bring my music to America and perform over here. I feel really honoured to have this opportunity! Oh yeah, Perez (www.perezhilton.com) came by my rehearsals too, it was great to see him – he’s been such a fantastic supporter of mine and is such fun – and he’s coming over to the UK for the Brit Awards on the 20th February so I look forward to seeing him again there and catching up properly! For Clive’s party I had a stunning skirt and corset which was specially made by Kyri –the dress was flown from London and arrived in the nick of time with just a few hours to spare the afternoon before the party! It was made of goldish taupe satin, I love Kyri designs they are so elegant. I was given some beautiful Gina nude/crystal shoes to wear which were gorgeous! Thanks Kyri! THE PARTY! Last night was the party….which I don’t think I could have imagined if I tried! I met my all time musical hero Whitney Houston - who looked so incredible. Clive Davis introduced us. I don’t think I managed to say much though, I was overwhelmed! I was told afterwards that when I performed she had said to a friend at the record label “My God, she’s a baby me!” wow - what a huge compliment! It’s been almost surreal and feels just so wonderful that I performed in front of so many people I admire – especially that Whitney even knows who I am and said that about me when I’ve been such a fan all these years! I cannot wait to hear her new material! I performed ‘Bleeding Love’ and ‘First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’. It was definitely one of the most nerve wrecking performances I have ever done! Amongst the audience and performers were Alicia Keys, Foo Fighters, Usher, Daughtry, Slash, Fantasia, Akon. Ryan Tedder who wrote Bleeding Love came too, it was great to see him, and we had a good dance to Akons set! One Republic are such a talented band and to have Ryan involved in my project is so much fun creatively. The next single is ‘Better In Time’ and ‘Footprints’, and its the official single for Sports Relief. I am so proud to be involved with the charity as I’ve seen some of the great work they do and who they can help not only on our doorstep here in the UK but also in some of the poorest countries in the world. I’ m going to visit South Africa soon to see some of the projects they work with there, I’ll be sure to report back to you. By the way have you all signed up to run a mile yet?!! www.sportrelief.com I’m heading back to the UK now to get ready to shoot my new video, I always love this part as it means I get to be really creative and work closely with the directors to come up with some great ideas. Sophie Muller who is an amazing director will be directing for the videos, I’m so excited and really looking forward to working with her this week. I want to say big thank you to all the fans who have supported me and made it possible for me to be here now and for the support for my album which is No 1 in Australia, Germany, Switzerland and Austria at the moment – Thank you - I really hope to be able to visit you all very soon !!!
